Terran shields are better than Teladis ones. Only drawback is that M shield have a longer recharge delay, but have more capacity and faster recharge speed.
For Corvettes, the Katana is a interesting ship, with same engines, it is faster than the Dragon Raider, have one more shield slot, a tinker hull, but is less agile and have two less main guns.
For capital ships, my favourite continue to be the Rattlesnake, with Paranid L guns, Argon M guns, Terran shields and Split Engines. It can against anything as long as you stay away of the Asgard main gun.

I think Terran engines are the best engine for some loadouts for being Best in Slot for Travel Drive and Boosting
the fighter AI likes to use boost and Terran Engines have the best efficency with boost, so for your AI fighter loadouts on carriers the extra boost efficency will cut down on shield consumption, and if you like using boost on your player ship S/M classes you can pull off more combat manuvers since terran engines consume less shield, especialy when paired with TER shields.
Travel Drive on Terran engines may have a lower max than most of the other races but they have the best Accelleration rate, they go from cruise speed to max travel speed within five seconds while other races engines have a much longer wait to max out travel speeds, this is most notable on L and XL ships so i would recomend terran engines on those classes even if their not terran hulls. and the lower maximum is marginal compared to other racial engines so the time savings from the Accelleration rate more than makes up for the slight max travel speed lost.
for Terran weapons the destroyer batterys are awesome, Mesons are a reskin of Boson lances, not sure how they compare as far as what has better stats in what areas, Pulses are Pulses, although TER pulses have better projectile velocity so accuracy is better on strafing fighters, this goes for turrets too, Protons on S/M remind me of Bolts and other similar weapons, nice fast firing weapon with okay damage and good heatsink.
Terran bolt turrets are garbage with in sector active combat, cant hit most fighters, OOS when the player is away they delete fighters, TER pulse turrets have better accuracy than most other races counterparts

acceleration only matters on small scales (a sector mostly is larger then 100KM) when you disable auto travel whatever it's called *Crtl space) you can change direction without ever leaving travel mode.soladept wrote: ↑Fri, 26. it matters on L and XL ships when it may take 50 - 100 KMs just for them to get up to speed. or a couple minutes, still time saved and being 10ms slower on top speeds compared to most engines is very marginal, the bigger impact is in non travel drive cruising speeds for most hulls. and even then for some hulls the lower cruising speeds dont really matter much. weapon loadouts that AI enemys have is so inconsistant you cant say when that extra 20-30 cruising speed from a MK4 Split would have mattered for evasion or not on a Fighter or other S/M ship and L and XLs have so little difference on cruise speeds between engines you tend to care more about travel drive. get a destroyer and a L freighter, fly them personaly with TER engines and then with another races like Argon, Paranid, or Split, you will tell the difference in handling after some sustained flying, and those differences apply to the OOS low attenion simulation.abisha1980 wrote: ↑Fri, 26. but not great in long term travel, sector to sector or very large sector, please noted enemies will use it, and chase you, I had xenon chase me in high speed, while terran had start up fastest, it's still not that great when you under fire even you wasn't aware or enemies come out of nowhere, keep you from using cruise speed when you trying to flee, it's moots. I like to had ability to go cruise speed while under fire then that is matter more.
But don't get me wrong, terran enigne might be great doing lot of turning while on cruise speed rather than straight fly, I think?

Did you watch the video? Basically shows that in a large sector you still win with the Terran engine - and every time you hit a gate you restart again, so in multi-sector trips you'll win every sector.humility925 wrote: ↑Fri, 26.
