Feeding Crews and Itea Rosea

I recently (new start with latest Beta) boarded a Behemoth with my lowly Peregrine and found that the cargo consisted of 55 Food rations, was this a chance/random storage item or do crews now need sustenance...?
Secondly I had a message flash up for a few seconds that a trader was being attacked by the Itea Rosea.... This happened so quickly that I am not sure if the name is correct or not but I found no further evidence of this name.
The Itea Rosea was/is an isopod so could fit in (design wise).... or am i going senile..

1) Coincidence, that's just what the pirates happened to have plundered before you boarded them.
2) Maybe it was a venture visitor?

Itea Rosea is surelly a venture visitor that was in the same area that the attacker. Sometimes, the game mix the visitors and the pirates callsigns in the message log when they are in the same area.

It does appear that the Food Rations was just random storage, but I had to check .. I have had a vast population starve and desert in the past due to the manager not replenishing the Soja Husk supply and yes the Itea Rosea could well have been a confused venture pilot/pirate, was hoping I had discovered a new pirate faction..

Pirates do sometimes masquerade as venture visitors. Not sure if that was intended by devs, but that does happen.

@ radcapricon ... You may well be right, but it was different enough at the time to catch my attention even if I maybe slightly mistaken in the name and have seen nothing since that was similar, maybe it was the UFO in disguise...
