Xenon main battery on cap ships?

Probably been mentioned before, but the absence of main batteries on the K and I vessels seems...illogical .

Given their proclivity towards lasers, I could imagine a pair of main guns forward on the K reminiscent of the Narn or Terran lasers from Babylon 5. Add a pair of aft-firing ones on the I since it's supposed to be big and mean. This would probably enhance their OOS performance as well...

The main weapon of Xenon are those Large rapid fire, high dammage pulse lasers.
They work well on K and I, but both ships have huge blind spots, so I would mind if they would have seeral more turrets and some missile batteries.

Why? Only L class destroyers have main batteries.

None of the Xenon ships are destroyers right now.
