POV only works in F4 view mode with Saitek X52 Pro

In the internal, external and external target view modes, accessed with F1, F2 & F3. The POV hat on my X52 Pro does nothing. For some reason it works just fine in F4 mode but this is the most useless of the four! I'm mostly playing on a laptop with no num keys so I have no alternate means of looking around. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is not being able to look around my cockpit or being fixed looking at a ships arse in one of the external modes.

One of the great pleasures of X3 was being able to get a squadron flying in formation and then pan around in an external view mode but I can no longer do this (also partly because squads can't seem to stay in formation for more than one minute but that's a separate issue)
