Waiting for my builder ... but he wont show up

Hi!
So, I got this mission to build a defense station, I did but as it is, the mission did not progress. So I re-configured the layout (worked already on other stations) and assigned (and paid) a builder to execute the new plan.

But the bastard never showed up!

That was at least two hours ago. I cannot see him anywhere the station or the sector (at the time of order, he was one sector away). I cannot search him, because I do not see his designation in the station building overview. Maybe he got blown up or found another job???

Question: is there a way to deselect the builder and select a new one? I have not found this option anywhere and I would really like to have those 6 mills from the mission

I was actually going to mention it once took 2 hours for mine to arrive, but I see you waited 2 hours already. I agree we need a way to fire builders, or atleast a better way to track them. You may try jumping around to local areas and see if he's stuck on a warp gate somewhere, assuming you paid attention to his ID, which I'm guessing not, since you just expected him to arrive, lol. Just check in general if he got stuck somewhere in 1-2 sectors away from your build site. If it's still been a few hours, 3-4 since you requested him, live game time, I'd repost in the technical forums and report it. If you leave your game on for some more hours, the builder may leave the job, or if that doesn't work, try deleting the requested build (anything for him to do) and then waiting a few hours to see if he leaves the job on his own, so you can hire another. Sorry you had this problem, definately one of the issues currently, I hope is being addressed by Egosoft.

Thanks, Triu. I waited a couple more hours and eventually the station got updated and I got my money \o/

I guess even builders need a break from time to time ...

I noticed when I finally ordered my first builder I saw a greyish waypoint going to my station. I followed the line to a blue squarish thing that was slowly heading to my base. That was the builder.

They are slow, but you can see them, you just have to keep your eye on them manually. You can even get a ship out and watch them on their way. But yes, some extra indications would be nice.

I recommend waiting for the builder to arrive in another sector. That way he won't get stuck on anything and in my cases it seemed he arrived much faster.
