Paranid civil war - any backstory

Is there any backstory about the war between two Paranid factions? I'd expect to find it in Encyclopedia, but suprise, suprise the encyclopedia is non-existant apart from some Argon ships.

According to the text files, Paranid systems have been separated during the Gate Shutdown, losing contact with the Priest Emperor Xaar.
Many of them choosed to get a new Pontifex rather than stay without guidance.
When the gates reconnected, the Empire claimed authority over them. All accepted, but one.
War followed shortly after that.

Same for me... It's really strange that they did not have time to write backstories for the factions, you can get some info on the few sector descriptions that we have but that's it... I did not even know the argons were at war with them after 50 hours of playing the game xD

Perhaps I miss-understood, but I thought Lothari did a lot of work on Lore prior to leaving Egosoft? It does seem somewhat absent from the game...other than a quick few lines in the initial War briefings.

Btw: when I started the game, I was getting "War Updates" now and again, regarding stations being built or destroyed...not seen anything like that for ages. I wasn't signed up the the Argon vs. Xenon thing back then, now I am and all's quiet.

I believe you learn some of the history by doing the Data Vault stuff which adds information to your Encyclopedia -> Timeline section.

The NPCs talk about a little bit if you get your rep up with the Paranid.
