Information screen keeps showing static.

As the title suggests, occasionally at seemingly random times, the information will just display static and will not go away. This has occurred on both vanilla and modified games and doesn't go away even after docking and leaving the ship. It doesn't seem to disappear when I use a jump gate or accelerator either, nor when I reload a save.
While the bug is active, it's not possible to interact with the mission transmissions on stations.
The bug seems to occur after shooting criminals around a station and can happen in any sector. The bug has been encountered on release and both subsequent patches.
