Greetings all!
It's been a few days now and first and foremost I want to thank everyone at Egosoft for making such an amazing, fantastic space sim. X4 is beautiful and huge; it's going to take me quite some time to see even half of what is there.
I've had a few bugs here and there, but I need to find ways to reproduce them first before I offer any kind of report. However, there is one thing that I have noticed that has been consistent from the start and that is the sounds for the long-range scanner [spin-up, release, and ping] are nearly inaudible (I do hear the ping, very faint in the background with all volume sliders at their default position; that is all sliders at 100% except the music is down a small amount. However I can't hear the spin-up or release sounds at all.) While not 'game breaking' in any way, it does make it harder to tell when it is 'spun-up' enough to let it go.
As I post this I am running X4:Foundations 1.20 (323307), no modifications, on the following machine:
Windows 10 Pro 64Bit
Asus TUF Z370 Motherboard
Intel i7-8700K 3.7GHz
64 GB RAM
Nvidia Titan X
Soundblaster Z Sound Card
Logitech 5.1 surround system.
T-Flight HOTAS X
Samsung 3440-1440 Ultra-Wide Monitor
1.20 FEEDBACK Long range scan audio too quiet.

I've turned Ambient and Music down about halfway as they were drowning out everything important. Even with that,t he Long Range Scanner ping is a bit too quiet.

That's a good idea. I will do that for the meantime.
Mostly I'm just posting to bring it to the Egosoft tech's attention. Looking through the forum it looks like they have their hands full right now (which makes sense, even with a good beta test department it's impossible to know how a program will operate on a multitude of different machines.)
Cheers!

Re: 1.20 FEEDBACK Long range scan audio too quiet.
I was still getting too much background noise (which I thought would be Ambient setting), so instead I turned Ambient back up to 75%, Music is still at 45%, and then I turned UI volume down to 40% or so and I can hear the radio noise a lot better without other miscellaneous noises in the way it seems. Not sure if those are backwards settings or if I'm misunderstanding them/having different situations in-game when testing.

Interesting. When I'm off work I'll have to check out what levels affect what.
I've had a number of weird errors (broken missions and trades not going through) that have made the game more of a bug-tracing chore than a relaxing experience so I think I"m going to give it a few weeks and come back. Just looking at the Technical Support forum list it's clear that they have their hands full right now (which is to be expected, of course.) No point in my reposting bugs that have already been identified so I should give them a while to work on things.
Cheers!
