Turrets dont work!(AT ALL)

Its yet to be added to the known problems list.

Turrets don't work, not talking about they can't hit anything, they don't shoot at all, I have had two ships now where they refuse to function and one ship where one functioned.
I can make turrets pop up/down but they will not shoot and the Heat bar is greyed out, no one on the forums has been able to answer how to enable them so I assume its a bug.

My turrets work so far. They're just boring.
Can you state which ships, or weapon systems? Also, have you checked the bits at the top when flying? The Shield means they only shoot when shot at, not sure if that includes missiles before they hit or not. So if they're at default settings, they probably just aren't shooting because you haven't been actively damaged by weapons-fire.
X games - addictive as heck. Always something to come back to.

Captured Paranid/Argon M both won't work no matter what, had one turret on a captured Paranid Super Transport function with a gun that was on it when captured.

Yes I can toggle fire mode, but they wont fire no matter what, the pew pew heat bar below fire mode is greyed out and turrets have a red light when deployed and no light when retracted.
No option anywhere I can find to Enable turret fire mode.

They are equiped with pulse laser mk1.
I have tried full crew of marines/servicemen/half of each.

Turrets are working, but they refresh target position not in real time, like 1 refresh per 2 seconds for me. They do not track target correctly. And only target turrets can shoot its target that standing still.
At least for me it was Cerberus with pulse mk1 turrets. EGO PLS FIX.

Maybe you shouldn't make claims something is working for other people.

I have multiple SHIPS where turrets DO NOT FIRE AT ALL...
Not talking about missing or just being crappy at targeting, they DO NOT SHOOT AT ALL.

They are greyed out in the icons like main weapons that are unselected by the current group... no option exists to change turret groups or in anyway that I have been able to find.

They dont shoot when I pilot the ship, they don't shoot when I have NPC piloting the ship.

Just try to click on "shield" icon below the turret icons in a top center of the screen to change turret mode. Shield - defensive mode that allow attack your turret only at agressor ENEMY who shot at you. Target icon - turret will attack nearest ENEMY ship.
Target icon with triangles at square corners - attack only your ENEMY target. Asteroid icon - attack asteroids. Missile target - attack missiles. Sorry for my bad english.


UPD. Nevermind, did not notice your answer about turret modes.

Turrets need much more precision and more (especially mixed) target priorities, a system like in vanilla AP where the player can select what an option does would be nice, ship have to few turrets to split them to different tasks.
all light laser turret e.g. should target deadly missiles.
custom priorities should look like:
attack brige target
attack S/M/L/XL ships
defend against S/M/L/XL ships (same as above but defensive only)
attack deadly missiles(does more than x% of shields in dmg)
attack any missile
attack asteroids

It appears any Boarded ship will have broken turrets.

Captured an Odysseus Sent and it doesn't even have turret icons.
