What drops AGI Heuristic Cores
As the title says, I need AGI Heuristic Cores. I have 1 but don't know where I got it. I think it may have come from one of the ships I blew up around a station but not sure. Anyone know?

I know you can get them in lockboxes. Other than that, maybe Xenon ships drop them?

Try to find blackmarket traders in bars, they often sell them.

I have a ship with two of the 9 required AGI Heuristic Cores docked on Olmancketslat's ship. When I go to that character's office and click "DELIVER" conversation the dialog shows I have "0" to deliver. The missions is active and I have a current marker to the character.

AGI stuff are inventory items so you need to speak to the captain of the ship and select "Hand me your inventory".pvarn wrote: ↑Fri, 12. As others said above all AGI items drop from Xenon ships.
In early game you can set up a small trader to pick up items around Xenon conflict zones (Hatikvah's Choice is generally the go to location but anywhere a Xenon sector borders a faction will work) and periodically visit them to grab the stuff.
Later when you have the cash and teleportation unlocked what I do is have fleets guarding those locations with a Supply Ship picking up the loot. Every now and the I will teleport to each of the supply ships in turn (and any other ship that picked something up by running over it) to grab their inventory to sell/stash at HQ.
There is also a command to tell ships to drop their inventory at HQ but given the slow speed of supply ships this is only really useful for fast ships doing the collecting and either way you won't be collecting while the ship is travelling back and forth to your HQ.

Re: What drops AGI Heuristic Cores
There seems to be a change in 8.0, making them much rarer.
Before you can buy them from Black Markets, Free Ports and Xenon drops. There were plenty.
After 8.0, I got two from the Pioneer start, which I assume are hand-placed, and three more from a single Xenon drop. Otherwise none. (Edit: Just found a couple on Tidebreak!!!) So make sure you save them, as some plots require Security Decryption Systems . Don't waste them on random missions.
You used to be able to buy Security Decryption systems as well, but so far I have seen none.

Re: What drops AGI Heuristic Cores
Aswell as all the suggestions so far made, you can also occasionally get them at Independent Trade Ports

Though they come up for sale a bit less than Rare Spices, a couple sometimes are for sale

Re: What drops AGI Heuristic Cores
Yes. Much more challenging to craft hacking devices now.
The most consistent way to find them now seems to be by fighting xenon. If you're organized about fighting them at a hostile gate you'll collect them pretty fast. Not different from spacefly eggs
But vendors on pirate stations and freeports ... even black markets .. it seems a bit uncommon to find them that way in 8.0

Re: What drops AGI Heuristic Cores
I don't know about that. I just watched VIG blow up the MIN shipyard in Eighteen Billion and there were hundreds of dropped crates. A number of them had some of those illegal wares typically sold by black marketeers. There was probably one such on the station when it blew and their wares were spread out all over the area. After some searching, I came up with 8 AGI heuristic cores, 13 AGI neural networks, and a couple AGI processors, as well as a few other bits and pieces. Make of that what you will.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

@nanook
Interesting
I have checked a significant number of free ports and black markets, well in the release candidate anyway, even had scouts parked that I can teleport through
And it was a straight arduous task to craft even a couple security decryption systems this way
Used to be able to average more than one per vendor, lately it takes multiple vendors to get one.

Re: What drops AGI Heuristic Cores
You will get hundreds from the Xenon gate in Hatikvah's Choice 1. But you need a fleet or defence platform there and a beefy ship to collect them. I use Cobras to collect drops. You can still lose them lol. All it takes is several Ks and an I to come through that gate and your fleet or platform is too far away to protect it. You will also pick up hundreds of basic mods and everything you need for the second Hyperion. Should get all that in less than an hour. Also, now with diplomacy you can pick up lots of wares that let you create luxury items to use for bribes. Like hundreds of eggs.
If you don't have a fleet etc or the means to buy/build one go there yourself. I'd save before you do lol. I go there early game on my own just to get enough drops to afford a miner and you can easily die there in a S class. Much safer in an M class, or what I do grab that early Hyperion and use that. Be careful though. The first Hyperion has weak shields so you will want to upgrade them. Good thing about the Hyperion is it has cargo drones and a much bigger magnet so you don't have to fly everywhere to collect them.

I get those cores from drones, which build Xenon-Stations.

Re: What drops AGI Heuristic Cores
For anyone stumbling across this here, a non-exhaustive list where they can be found in 8.0 :
- Civilian station traders
- Pirate station traders
- Black market traders
- Small and medium civilian (non-military) ships
- Small and medium pirate (civilian and military) ships
- All Xenon ships (including mass traffic)
- Virtually all lock-boxes (common/unusual/rare/luxury/mine/trap)
- Data vaults
