HOTAS plugged in, mouse starts to wander

Post by Henkka77 »

If have my Thrustmaster FCS HOTAS plugged in, the mouse wants to travel all the way to the right side of the display. When i unplugged the FCS, mouse stops traveling.
There might be some looseness in my HOTAS as its 2 years old and 2000hrs in, but that doesnt happen in other games like in Elite.

There are a few things to check that may help your issues with joysticks in game options.

- Adjust the dead zones 5 %
- Gamepad mode OFF
- Confine mouse to window ON
- Adaptative steering ON
- Bidirectional throttle ON

Hello
I have the same or similar problem. I got a Saitek X52 with Throttle, Saitek Yoke with Throttle and CH Pro Pedals connected to my computer.
I emptied all controller slots
and used the settings above:

- Adjust the dead zones 5 % up to 50%
- Gamepad mode OFF
- Confine mouse to window ON
- Adaptive steering ON
- Bidirectional throttle ON

But the map screen is wandering fast neither keyboard inputs nor mouse helps, after the hot fix it got even worse.
Before the map did wander of much slower.
I don't want to disconnect my flight controls, because I would have to remap all settings in IL-2 Great battles after reconnecting.

Pour empêcher la souris de vagabonder, il faut :

- Aller dans la configuration des commandes dans les menus.
- Désactiver l'émulation de la souris. (Enter + Suppr)

Sorry, my english is too bad for explain that in english.

I did update controller settings according to Santi, but I still have trouble with mouse wander to the right when TWCS (Thrustmaster Weapon Control System) throttle is plugged in. So now only the joystick is plugged in. I'm using a Thrustmaster T16000M FCS HOTAS (Joystick + throttle pair). Most likely someone has this sorted. I admit to not having this setup yet for Rebirth either.

Same here. Good instructions, sadly they didnt did the trick for me. I have the same throttle as you have.
Oh well, must continue playing without HOTAS then until there comes some kind of fix for this.

For users of a Saitek X52:

The axes X-rotation and Y-rotation (on the throttle) are responsible for the movement of the mouse cursor.
Setting deadzone to maximun in the Windows(!) configuration helped me.

Ditto on the mouse wondering with X52 HOTAS. So where’s tech when you need then?

worked for me with hotas 4 (hotas profile selected in game settings), but i had to restart the game and reassign the main axes to the stick. (x, y and r). maybe this also helps others.

My colleague mentioned earlier today that the default joystick profile isn't correct and has wrong axis mapped.
That profile will be removed from the next build.

You can take any other profile as a startpoint for remapping to your preferred controls.

I have the same issue with my mouse drifting to the right when I plug in my T16000M set up, then start the game. I tried the suggested settings changes but it made no difference. If I unplug the joysticks when the game is on the mouse immediately quits moving. It also appears I can set up my T16000M in the controls settings but can't use them because when I get into the game my mouse drifting makes everything spin around until I unplug the joysticks. Any way to disable the mouse in game? This can't be this difficult, what am I doing wrong?. It also seems like when I save a profile, leave the game and restart the game the profile isn't save, the one with my joystick settings... figure I'm doing something wrong there too.

I had similar issues but found that by exiting the Saitek systray profiler app, the problem resolved itself. It might just be me but, worth a try ;)

Ok so I run a Saitek X-52 Pro and when i start to play the game, eventually the game would act like I'm walking and strafing in person, flying the ship was fine, and whenever i tried to use the map, it would move to a side as far as i could, making it unusable. The work around I found was to remove the bindings for the emulated mouse from the axis under the menu and platform control setups. The x and y axis and automatically set to these and it seems to cause this issue.

This mouse running all over the place needs to be FIXED!!! Its very frustrating and sometimes makes the game unplayable. I have done the settings earlier (in forum). But it still continues to happen. I really thought that i would pre-order thinking that Egosoft learned their lesson from Rebirth. I have waited a long time for this to release and so far its very disappointing. Please fix Immediately

Nice. I will like to add at this, that some mouse emulators in the Joysticks could be out of center. It happened to me in a Saiteck X52 one of the wheels in the throttle stick was out of center, I centered and problem solved.
