Been playing Wings Remastered from GOG, a re-tread of the old Amiga WW1 flying game. Great fun, quite tough in an insta-death way. Controller friendly, which is a bonus.
Also, Serflings, a remake of the original Settlers game. Again, great, nostalgic but also quite tough. Resource management, supply, all of that stuff that I later enjoyed in the X games. German developers, coincidence?
A time-sink - You can be 5-10 hours into a scenario before you come to realise you're not going to win and have to start over. I never made it through all 30 single-player missions back in the day and I'm determined to tick that box before The Reaper claims me (I'm not ill or anything - I'm just not getting any younger).

I play it when I feel like it and will be starting mission #23 next time the mood takes me :)

A bit of Xenonauts now and then too.

I loved that game, “Wings” on the Amiga 500, on PC it’s different, the other 500 game was Silkworm, fond memories

Completed the story in Star Wars Outlaws. It was mostly pretty good with some twists/cameos. Definitely glad I bought it. Gameplay is a bit janky and you will have to look up some stuff on youtube. Some of the quick time games/tests will frustrate some people. Some pretty fast keystrokes like a typing test. Some people might need help to get through them. Abilities are unlocked by doing sets of specific feats which was interesting. There's some extra arcade like games and gambling games (Kessel Sabacc ~like in Witcher with the card game, animal racing, etc....) Lots to do like missions and treasure hunts, etc... Walk around and there's npc to talk to to get side missions, or ? pop up and there's stuff to find. The worlds are well done and feel very Star Wars like. There's settings to adjust your health, wanted level difficulty etc... in the games settings. Defaults reasonably easy. There's a demo with a three hour time limit? The game takes quite a while to get used to so most people might just be lost and the demo doesn't start in the easiest area since there's tricks and game mechanics to understand which might take an hour or so just to get out of the hole. Demo might not have been updated also? Nvidia balanced plus model M gave good results for 50xx series gpus. There's game optimization videos on youtube.

I'm playing Aethus atm. It reminds me a bit of Subnautica, only without the first-person perspective. I like the graphic style used. The caves you explore are very atmospheric. It’s very story-driven, with some really amusing conversations between the main character and her ... machine god ehrrm mining drone ;)

Copied from his (yes, again, a single Developer did this) Website:

"Deep, story-driven exploration - follow in the boot-prints of a disastrous corporate science expedition and navigate arid desert caverns, misty subterranean jungles and sweltering magma caves in search of vast abandoned underground facilities in a fully voice-acted narrative.

Mine, refine, craft and prospect for hundreds of resources, items and tools in an open, physics-driven, futuristic sci-fi underground world.

Build up your mining Outpost - construct modular habitats and facilities, grow hydroponic crops, automate your resource gathering and decorate with extensive cosmetic options and visual themes.

Straight to full 1.0 release - no years of Early Access, just a fully-formed, polished experience available at a reasonable price.
Stylised low-poly, high-fidelity graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5."

I'm currently playing recently released Banquet for Fools as a CRPG nostalgia fix. It's a bit like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate type 'lead a team of hack & slash/mystics' games but with enough differences and good/novel qualities to be refreshing too. It nicely integrates real-time and turn-based gameplay along with many different tactics options and class progressions. It also has very attentive devs that are passionate about their game.

Maybe the one bit of advice I would give is to do research into its team composition, interactions and balancing before starting out as otherwise you will be restarting a lot on the first main map section. I don't mean just copying other players' posted suggestions for 'best team'; instead I mean thinking carefully about what sort of gameplay styles you want to use in combination and then how best to mould them from the character set so as to work well in synergy. I found that an entertaining aspect of the early gameplay that makes a big difference downstream.

I’m playing the new indie game “Over the top WWI” the game/ Devs are show up many many AAA games, within a day it’s fix, hilarious to play, sadly, you always get the children that can’t lose & cheat, the devs have done well, nothing like the gfx’s of this game but at just £13.99 it’s a blast, 200 vs 200 single player is great to, to cut your teeth into.

In case you missed it, Starfield just announced the next free update and paid DLC.
The free one is actually quite big and the paid one is included in the Premium Edition - which is a surprising and nice move from Bethesda.

Let's see, if I can get another 565 hours in the most disappointing game of the decade :D

Oh I know exactly what I'll do this winter*... It'll be as awesome as Starfield got released - or when the Shattered Space DLC became available. :) Even X4 can go home then :D

*no time before that for serious gaming - this year is packed already with projects

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. The mouse/keyboard controls are a bit janky due to the game being for console controllers. It took about 5+ hours to get into the game then I started enjoying it. The main story cut scenes are a bit hard to take and there only seems to be one option vs an rpg with multiple choices. It's a pretty good game with lots of open world exploration. Glad I stuck with it and bought it. It's a very demanding game to run. Most people will probably want to look up optimized settings videos.
