I got the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim on Steam a while ago when it was cheap. It shows in Steam as Skyrim Special Edition, but has the extra content. So, I think in essence AE is just SE with some extra mods... or creations, whatever they call them now.alt3rn1ty wrote: ↑Thu, 4. Dec 25, 11:02 One curious thing I have seen, the game requirements are we must own Skyrim Special Edition (not the Anniversary edition), and Oblivion GOTY Deluxe .. but on the GOG Mods page https://www.gog.com/en/game/the_elder_s ... skyblivion they only mention Skyrim Special Edition. I'm guessing thats a bad mistake on the GOG page, because the team will have considered the legal aspects to this.

Re: Playing other games
There were some record updates between SSE & SSEAE (which is why there is an Unofficial Patch for SSE, and recommended additional patches for SSEAE, due to the problems caused by the SSEAE Creation Club content which does not get included in the original SSE). The Skyblivion team have stuck with its base requirement of Skyrim Special Edition (and they started the project long before SSEAE was released .. I think It would be too much reworking things for them to use SSEAE as a new base requirement. If you try to use Skyblivion with SSEAE you will have some underlying issues nobody will be able to resolve, and using SSEAE with Skyblivion will mess up its Load Ordering. You really do need Skyrim Special Edition, not the Anniversary Edition.Scoob wrote: ↑Thu, 4. Dec 25, 12:37I got the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim on Steam a while ago when it was cheap. My question was about why GOG Mod page for Skyblivion does not specify Oblivion GOTY Deluxe as an additional requirement to Skyrim Special Edition, when the Skyblivion team do say it is also a base requirement.
The Skyblivion team made it that way so that they would not get into hot water legally with Bethesda, and after all this time developing Skyblivion such mistakes would be a disaster. I think GOG could get themselves in trouble by not correctly noting the requirements.
I sent GOG a message via their Contact Us form, just to point things out that they could be standing into rough waters with Bethesda if they dont correct it.

Re: Playing other games
I purchased Battlefield 6 that was the biggest Pile-o-Shyte to grace my computer, then I purchased Project motor racing, that too was another no no, another Pile-o-shyte game, I’ve gone back to Starship troopers, new updates, loving it, made a second company (Outfit) we in the top 400 now and I only made the company less than 2 weeks ago.
Looking forward to the new games coming out soon. I might start another game of X4 next year, oh I bought on steam sale “company of heroes 3” that’s a cracking game.

I think I am still in the character Generation preparing for my third playthrough .. many decisions/considerations for how the party will progressively level
Good to know they have now finished all the debugging too, so an earnest attempt at doing everything will no longer be interrupted with "oh we fixed such & such, so you might have missed a bit of something".

Stalker 2 released some more free content. Maybe 5 hours worth of extra quests?

Totally hooked to Enshrouded after the water update. Missus is doing the decorating while my job is the heavy lifting

Re: Playing other games
I've restarted Enshrouded with the latest release single-player version. With the recent trend in player weapon nerfs and increases in enemy numbers along with unwarned spawn-ins of sometimes formidable enemies, I found the first two Hollow Halls very challenging this time round. I'll take a long breather before trying the third set of Halls to get some better equipment and stats. (You've got to love chamomile tea and 'plus' potions when in a tight situation.)

Re: Playing other games
Agreed. The HHs were original meant to be for a team play, healer, tank and DD. For a solo player they are a pain, too long and packed with hazardous environments (lava, poison etc.). I've died too many times in the Kindlewaste HH, mostly due to the parcour parts, fall damage and lava. Finally I've cheesed my way (settings in the world edit, pickaxed my way to avoid chasing for unlocks) through it because it was the last quest I had at that time.
However, HHs are a minor part of the game. We enjoy exploration and, most of all, the building features.

Up until finally buying X4 (a few weeks ago!) I was mostly playing Two Point Hospital, and before that Civ VI.

Well, since I've just bought on eBay Civ: Call to Power, which is over 1/4 century old, I'd say I'm into playing old games as well.Usenko Temporary wrote: ↑Wed, 24. Dec 25, 08:46 Up until finally buying X4 (a few weeks ago!) I was mostly playing Two Point Hospital, and before that Civ VI.

Game is timeless and, for me, the most deeply strategic of the entire Civ series, seemingly simple to play, but so deeply nuanced. I used to play in the 'World Championships' on the Apolyton site and apparently there's an active multiplayer community still out there with its own Discord server.
It really is a monster of a game to master tactically, with a seven thousand year technology span where you can risk it all to churn out masses of military in the midgame, only to find your opponent has tanks, and airplanes to your musketeers and cavalry, or space fighters to your stealth bombers.

Well, I've been caught up in it too: The >HyTaLe< HyPe. For me, it's already better than Minecraft
I'm excited to see, how this game develops.
In any case, I'm already enjoying it. My first highlight of this still young year
I also like games like this from time to time. Something for the whole family.

I've been obsessively playing Civ 5 the last week or two. I have Civ 6, but never could get into it. Something about Civ 5 that clicks for me, but not Civ 6.

Re: Playing other games
Hogwarts Legacy. Pretty good game. It takes a bit to get started. Lots of small details and unanswered questions to keep the mystery. Main stories a bit bland. Lots of easier puzzles. 91/100 on steam longer term reviews. You can become overpowered. An epic game in my opinion. Lots to explore and experience. Games set in 1800s to avoid conflict with the new Harry Potter stuff.
Star Wars Outlaws. Kind of mixed feelings. It's a stealth game. Game runs poorly. Might just be rinse and repeat style game. Tomb Raider type climbing/grappling and quite a few puzzles. Upgradable blaster is your main weapon. 71/100 for long term reviews on steam.
Witcher 4 delayed until 2027.

Re: Playing other games
Been playing Civ CTP this evening. Graphically unappealing, but it has amazing strategic depth, which I think was more luck than design. Apparently there's a thriving multiplayer community with their own discord server. I'll try my hand once I've familiarised myself with this ancient game.
