Wondering,,,,
I just converted all my old XP desktop computers (5 PC) to Linux mint and happy with their easy software "Steam on Linux" works nice, but have yet to install all my X3 cd's into WINE.
Has anyone else gone done that road lately?

isnt there a native version of x2 / x3 for linux on steam?
if not stated otherwise everything i post is licensed under WTFPL

There are native Linux ports for all three X3 games available on Steam. If you do have the Windows Steam versions, then you automatically have access to the Linux versions, when you have the Linux Client installed.
For X2, there is a Linux port made by Linux Game Publishing. However, I'm not sure, whether it is still sold somewhere.
Apart from that, on Winehq.org there are a number of test reports from users running the different X games (i.e. running the Windows versions under wine):
X2: The Threat
X3: Reunion
X3: Terran Conflict
X3: Albion Prelude
The test results are, of course, not the newest and Linux Mint does not seem to be the favoured distribution. Maybe you can still find some useful pieces of information.
