i know where you're coming from. the first time i stepped into a shipyard and saw the offred ships, i also first checked them out in the ingame encyclopaedia to get that misleading information. I could live live with "argons use the fedhelm for mining ore only. doesn't mean you have to". right now it makes new ppl think fedhelm is the only ore miner and the sad part about it is, that it's not even good at it.

did you remove the part where it would reposition itself a bit if the asteroid count doesn't change for some time? because i'm watching the miner just sit near an asteroid that it can't reach with the lasers for over 10 mins now without trying to reposition a bit.

Hello all!

I have a scaldis. With the mod he fires to asteroid, but doesn't use drone. So he doesn't colletc anything.

Without mod he use drones and starts to collect something.

The repositioning part is still in, and I haven't changed anything about drone behaviour yet. Though I noticed since 1.16 my drones have acted differently, so maybe egosoft has made some changes. (also my Fedhelm now has a dockingbay)

Fedhelm refuses to launch drones and wont do anything if im around nearby, it does move around tho and eventually parked up near some asteroids. It does gather mats once im out-of-sector. The new docking-port since the patch is also a nice one... Now i can finaly crew the tub.

Not launching drones and staying idle while player near intended behaviour? Mod v0.4 atm in use.

aye, tried it vanilla without other extensions and it's backing up to reposition again. So I'll try to find it if it interfers with one of the extensions.

hm, now after some time it stopped working at all and an AI Fedhelm is stuck in the same way about 2 km from it. maybe something about 1.17 patch.

I had a bug where I manually tagged in mining mode astroid rocks. My cargo ship would deploy drones they would go out a short ways and stop frozen.

To try to fix the issue and recall the drones. I removed the freighter from the squad and re-added it. then I sent it mining automatically in a deployed the two drones, It had left. I told at the stop mining and recall the two drones and left and the other eight unaffected still frozen.

I went ahead and deleted all my saves and restarted just in case mods weren't updating and leaving stray scripts in the save. If the bug happens again I will make a video upload saves and extensions.

Mmm i try out of sector. In sector the mod doesn't work for me too.

Hi,

Just trying out this mod and I'm experiencing some...oddness.

I've asked my mining ship (fully equipped Fedhelm) to collect Nividium in Zone Forty-Two (DV.GT.2) and it immediately sends out drones to start collecting. I assume the area has a lot of natural floating stuff that the drones can just collect.

Anyway, the drones start collecting stuff and bringing it back to the ship - totally ignoring the particular mineral I asked them to collect though, but I think that's vanilla behaviour.

After a few minutes I notice the ship suddenly launch forwards as a huge speed, like it'd been hit by something. It took a lot of damage too. I cotinue to watch it and every to often it flies off in a seemingly random direction, once again taking damage. Put it this way, I, at full speed, would struggle to keep up for those few seconds it's moving. Though it does soon come to a halt again.

The ship is continuing to collect minerals, it's zapping the odd asteroid too, so the mining side is working. It's just this regular flying off in a random direction, as if hit - HARD - that's got me confused.

Any ideas? This is my first attempt at mining.

This mod still being worked on or has it been abandoned/discontinued? Just curious.

This mod still work with 1.18? 1.19 beta is on the way and mod author seems nowhere to be found. I wonder if this mod, due to lack of updates, is responsible for weird behavior within the game now. I am tempted to remove it. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

I suggest to remove this for now. 1.18 seems to have improved the miner AI a bit. My Fedhelm moves near roids quite nicely.

Someone take over maybe? Theres a LOT room for improvement.

Give him/her some time. If there is no progress by mid January I would call it dead. The holidays are starting and people will be working/traveling/etc more than normal.
