You can load your DVD version into the appropriate Steam folder and Stean will just update the files as needed.

Sooo apparently the you have to choose:

apparently some think that you can buy the new split m2, but you can do so even without choosing them, so whats the reward for that?

Edit: Some of the Ally perks might not manifest depending on your current race / faction standing. For example:

If you have really low reputation with the Yaki when you ally with them, it goes up enough to purchase the stations they offer. Handy if you have been shooting at them on sight up to then.

If you ally with Jonferco as a Terran, your Argon rank goes to Citizen if it is too low.
Those are just some of the perks that might be missed. Pay attention, look closely, and you might just find one or two well trained security details on faction ships ;)

They wouldn't be PALCS would they? The ingame info says "5m+ future Split ship designs", but doesn't say any more than that. The Yaki choice gives you access to the fabs right away, while Jonferco apparently just pays you 15M.

I already have a large complex feeding the IBL forges in Yaki space and have collected 40 of them so far, and a similar number of PBGs. I had to have my freighter scram out of the forge in Void of opportunity as a Split task force turned up to destroy every pirate station in the sector :lol: . (Also had to grab the 2 marines I had in training at the pirate base).

I'm going to keep a lookout for TLs that might replace the station, so far no sign of any...

I finally bought AP thanks to this update. I have zero time to play it, thanks to my six month old daughter, new job, and a number of other things, but I couldn't not own it after reading the list of work that was put into this.

Good job, community. :)

I might even get to put a couple of hours into it tonight.

Well done.

This update gives me reason to play it again.
Just done the Terran plot and waiting for the new ones to start.

Don't expect to finish any plot in a couple of hours, even with cheats.
But save often and you will get through all the plots eventually.

I remember my first go at the Hub plot in TC...took me about six weeks,pure vanilla, and walking blind. lol !

Good stuff, I still gotta get around to playing AP but this just gives me even more incentive. :)

Good news on the nosteam patch too, I'm one of those who doesn't trust Valve but I do trust Egosoft and this makes me all the more interested in Rebirth and future Egosoft products.

I'd just like to point out something about the 3.0 update.

When you complete the company plot, you're jumping from sector to sector following ships creating stations, for the company shares...all you're efforts are in vain when some other corporation buys the company from under you're nose.

Could we have an option where we can choose to buy or sell the corporation including the assets, the ships & stations, but continuing the plot be It a strike on a station, exposure in an newspaper for shady business practise on a station or threats from pirates.

I'd just like the option where we can choose to buy or sell the corporation.

to move the previously built PHQ after acquiring your own sector
, that is an awesome feature.

, though? I cannot figure out what it might be useful for if you already have a PHQ.

And finally, I have to report that I exploded while undocking from the Gate Hub in a Springblossom. All of the other stations (super shipyards etc.) work fine now.

No its not. Its just as useful for everyone else, it does not do ALL you want or possibly could in a modified game, but it serves the purpose of any other Player Equipment dock in vanilla, parking BigShips, storage, etc.

There is all sorts of things one can do with it, even if its not as versatile as the player HQ.

Unfortunately, Steam kept deleting my TC install, but I managed to trick it as described in http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php? ... 85#4061085.

When the game asks me, if I want to change the location of my HQ, do I have to undock all my ships? Or is it save to let them inside? There are also 3 capitals docked at the outside docking slots.

The Boron aboard your HQ who offers to move it suggests that you undock all ships, because the script tends to mess them up. Furthermore, he asks you to make sure that there are no reverse engineering or ship repair tasks in progress.
