Windows 7 blues

I had to get a new PC, it runs Windows 7 home, Installed X2 The threat (which I've been playing for about 10 years ??? (is this possible ? :? )

All seemed to work till I tried to "Patrol multi sector " command,

Instead of command I get "Read Text2010-1206" and the ship lists "unknown command" :!: Does this mean I am screwed and all this play time is down the drain? :?: I sure hope not !!!!! PLEASE HELP !! :?

Oh BTW....was running Windows XP Pro before the game worked fine till I fried the Video card!

Depends, whether you mean ingame time or real time. The latter isn't possible, as X2: The Threat was first released at the end of 2003.

No, it means that you haven't installed the Bonus Package properly. Readtext errors always mean that a certain text line couldn't be found.
I suggest you download and install the Bonus Package again.

I guess , I only played for 9, not 10 years , my math must be off ! :idea:

Unfortunately that didn't fix the problem. I still get the same responses
in slot 1 and 2. The turret commands seem to OK though :cry:

I even get the same "read .....", when trying to shop at equipment docks!!
it is substituted for "hire gunnery crews" .

Re-installed the game, Now "Patrol Multi sector" works,
Aegis can also be bought at EQ Docks. Hire gunnery Crews still has the same stupid "read text" message :?

Do you still have the install from your old PC.. just copy the entire game folder over the top of your old one.


should fix the problem
