One day this game will go online and I will finally get to play it after all the years I've owned both the x3 games.
I will get experience from someone.
On my own,I will never ever ever ever get into this game because I don't understand it.
Even with Prelude it guides you but then I got shot up for no reason ,reloaded and repeat and then gave up on it.

This is a great guide.
All you need to do to is follow the stage-by-stage instructions and even if you don't understand what you are doing then and there, it'll start to work.
Then you will see how it works, in-game, and you can read the guide again with a much better idea of what's what.
I have been hoping for someone to write a guide like this, because I've tried CLS a bit before but I think I wasn't doing a very effective job.
Thank you for taking the time to write this guide and please don't take the above posts as any indication on how the rest of us feel.

As long as it's armed with a transporter beam, any ship will do to resupply your carrier. IIRC, if your fighters are homebased to the carrier, they'll resupply there, automagically, if the carrier has the needed item in stock.StarSword wrote:I'm planning to use CLS to keep a carrier-based wing of Falcon Haulers loaded with missiles and EBC ammo, and I have a question: how would you go about using CLS to restock fighters that are docked to a carrier? Can I use a freighter as planned, or would I have to use another Falcon for the job?

The easiest way to set it up StarSword would be to have the CLS restock the carrier, then set each fighters missile resupply in the weapons menu. I use something similar in my DiD, my Tenjin fighter wing auto restock on mosquito missiles and EBC ammo whenever they return to homebase, and the hombase is stocked by the CLS freighter

^I didn't want to hijack the guide so I had one of the mods transfer the conversation to this thread.

Parts of this seems familiar. I only covered getting these pilots to max rank while applying minimal effort in the shortest time frame practical. After that it is up to the end user to figure out what to do with these clowns.

I have read all four pages, and I have a suggestion.
When I first tried setting up CLS, I added the CLS mk2 and Nav mk1 and had the ship in space and not docked when I tried to setup the waypoints. I could not figure out at all why it was greyed out and unavailable to me. I even went as far as reinstalling everything thinking my scripts were screwed or something.
I read the readme that came with the bonus pack, and being docked to activate the CLS waypoints part for the first time is not mentioned. I read the forums for days until it was mentioned in an off hand way in a thread I dug up from way back.
I just do not see any one pointing out that the ship needs to be docked in a station the first time you invoke it. I have found out since, that you can change waypoint etc. on the fly.
Caused me endless problems and frustration for three days. I had no trouble figuring out what it does, once I got it to activate.

The reason for needing to be docked the first time is so your new apprentice pilot can board and take over for you. The new pilot can't join you in space.Hippotastic wrote:I have read all four pages, and I have a suggestion.

Perfect way to make money for new players:
Buy: Magnetar, 2/3 M3/4's with fitting equipment.
GoTo: Pirate Sectors
Attack: Goner Rangers until they bail
Make: 2 million credits profit per Ranger

Ah, my apologies. In my haste to get the guide written I seem to have overlooked a very simple yet highly important point. Well spotted sir *salutes*Hippotastic wrote:I have read all four pages, and I have a suggestion.

But it did stop me in my tracks for three days unable to figure it out and then progress to using the script. I actually gave up after reinstalling twice, moved on, and then stumbled on the answer in the archives as I like to read these forums.

Thank you Sir, I knew something was wrong, but not what. I notice there are a lot of newer players on here these days, and if we can save one player...Kirlack wrote: Ah, my apologies. I keep seeing add the CLS2 and NAV1 and your good to go. Nearly true.

Iam hopeless. How can I setup my trader to buy E-Cells and unload them in my complex, but only if the complex runs out of stock? I tried many things, but the CAG just sits in station, "CAG on standby" doing nothing, please help.
Is it restricted by his traderank? My guy is at Apprentice.
And which command should I use? Internal Logistic, External or Commercial representation?
