I tried opening a thread this lunch time and encountered a block from Google strongly objecting saying you have on site malware from a known distributer of malware?
A lot of users including moderators have recommended Google services for forum navigation, you cannot afford a battle with Google. Can you sort this out with them, or are you content to infect all our machines?

I think it may be to do with a certain members avatar coming from a suspect site, and nothing to do with Egosoft directly- There is a thread on this in off topic.

I am not in the habit of ignoring blocks from Security/Search Software, if we all did that, you mighty as well hand the internet over to the criminals, all warnings should be acted upon!
At least my post is based on a serious warning from a recommended source which is more than can be said of the imaginative rambling demeaning accusation in your post!
What I really need is an assurance from site authorities that they are going to tackle Google about this but like Shootist they will probably prefer to lay back and think of England?

David, then the obvious thing to have done with an urgent concern of yours would have been to have PM'd a site admin like pjknibbs. Identifying the thread you tried to open would also have been rather handy for any follow-up action rather than trying to damn the whole forum or website out of hand.

In the absence of any useful detail, it seems that Goldfinch's 'Sonic the Hedgehog' (tm) avatar is indeed being blocked (probably for trademark or IPR reasons). Only you will know whether he is involved in your issue thread. The good browsers do their job by doing exactly that sort of thing and then let you make informed decisions and get on with your on-line life quite safely. As far as I can see, our AV and Firewall don't even get involved so I would say that jobs are being done properly all round.

I was getting the same message yesterday for some time. Running linux I am used to ignore such messages, but still... May be somebody put into his or her signature a reference to an image on that services it complained about? I checked the URL and it was some Spanish social network or upload service.

As users can post off-site images in posts and avatars, it is possible that these things can happen from time to time. As usual, call an admin. It seems that this cases was taken care of relatively quickly.

As for Google being involved, I expect it's your browsers preferred method of detecting these things.

In my misguided ignorance, I thought as I was having trouble using the forum, the correct place to get help and support was the Support Forum, silly ME? In my defence I point out again that it did take the Moderators two moves to get it right, so this forum cannot have so obviously been the right place for it?
Hopefully, I will get it right next time???
