X3TC A New Home Plot Communication problem with #cafe

I just reached the part of the plot where you have to hack the computer on #cafe, but I cannot comm the ship. I am 19.5km from it and I have received the two messages telling me to hack the ship. If I get any closer to it I get swarmed by its fighters. I have done the plot before, but is there something that I am forgetting to do to get #cafe to respond to my requests to communicate?

I am running an unmodified game on Windows 7 64bit.

once you are within range,the code breaking missions should trigger.

I do hate Soduko....even if there are soduko sites that will fill the numbers for you.

Mastermind was ok though.

The Sudoko puzzle itself wasn't a problem, the ridiculous input UI was.

I know that I am targeting and trying to communicate with the correct ship. Its the one that the yellow arrows are pointing to. When I open the ship menu it gives me the option to comm the ship, but when I press it nothing happens

Is there anything in the message log that you can respond to?
Some messages have buttons and stuff. Has it in fact commed you first?

It turns out that there was a corrupted file in the STEAM files. I discovered it by running a varification. I then went back to a save game outside of comm range and when I got in range the two messages appeard and then the codebreaking automatically began.

I've found with this mission that progressing sometimes involves flying back towards #efaa, then back towards #cafe again.

I am having trouble getting bast the mainframe hacking of #cafe. After the sudoku puzzle you have to enter a third code which I believe is "USCMarteen_earth_plus_omega" however it just keeps asking for the password again. I am not sure about the message talking about the mouse flight mode but have tried changing modes with no change in the end result. I have been through the hacking sequence about fifteen times now with no change in the outcome. What am I missing? It is getting old. Any assistance would be appreciated.

You have only a part of the password. You can look in any X3TC walkthrough to find the whole password.
