Instruction:
Run the utility "XTdat" Specify the location of the file 01.cat (file 01.dat program finds automatically, if it is in the same place as the 01.cat, otherwise you need specify located 01.dat file).
The same action you need to do with other CAT, DAT files - 02, 03, 04.
After unpacking all CAT, DAT files, delete these CAT, DAT files from the game, because they not needed anymore.
I tested myself, after unpacking X2 (packed 1.4 us game version) game CAT, DAT files with software "XTdat", game works normaly.

Is it... The game don't work unpacked if you use the linux version. I tested this data in /usr/local/games/x2 or in the user folder inside .lgp/x2 and the game never start.
In the terminal I have this message in all combinations: "The data directory for the game could not be located".
I tested this process with a Windows version of the game and work, the linux version is little different.
Someone know if is possible run it in this form? The option +r don't is recognized by the program...
