Hi there. I wanted to know how I can extract the voice overs from the ship's onboard computer. Why? I'd like to extract the "incoming message" voice over to be used as audio for incoming sms on my cell phone and maybe some others as windows sounds.
I'm rudimentary familiar with the modding package, but I was unable to find the sound overs. I managed to get my hands on most of the sound effects and the music, but not the voice overs. Am I on the wrong track to attemt to frind them in the *.cat/*dat files?
Another thing would be... is it legal?
-Being on that point, it would be awfully nice of egosoft if they would release the soundfiles as kind of a bonus pack or something.

I recommend audacity. It's a nice freeware tool which can what you need to.
I use it everytime I have to cut or modify any sounds
If you google lame_enc.dll file you can even export mp3-files!
