Is there a way to have the Warp Gates in Terran space actually use the Terran Gate model, especially a resized version?
Looks a bit odd they have a Commonwealth gate and are so stuck up about enemy tech normally.

Terran "Gates" are actually Trans-Orbital Accelerators. They serve the same purpose when flying for free, but they're not compatible with jumpdrives. You can't jump past Asteroid Belt. The "jump gates" look different because they ARE different.TrixX wrote:Is there a way to have the Warp Gates in Terran space actually use the Terran Gate model, especially a resized version?

Not talking about the Terran Orbital Accelerators. There are actual Terran Warp Gate models in the game files. They look very different to the Argon ones and have no bits that stick on ships from the event horizon of the gate.
It looks like this was to be the gate Heretic's End or to be used in an upcoming update. Personally I hope there is a bit more reason to enter Terran Territory soon as currently it's a bit of a cul de sac in the universe of X3!

Yes but that Terran gate was really only made once and that was connecting the Commonwealth to Sol but otherwise they didn't make anymore. The Trans orbital accelerators were built so that the Xenons were unable to get back using a 'jumpdrive' like you do in game. Although I must admit that It would be nice to get some bigger gates in though I guess the ancient race that made the originals were little dwarfs with mini spaceships....
If your best is not good enough why even try?

Yeah that Terran gate could easily be used to create a link to Aldrin instead of requiring a Jump Drive (what did they jump to anyway...). Also making that link up in the Oort Cloud would give us a reason to head up that way, especially if Aldrin and it's area link up to a different section of the X Universe. Getting bored with Omicron Lyrae and company

Yeah I know that, hell it's easy enough to add them as it is, just that I want to use the other gate style and can't work out how...
Going to link the Unknown sector in the Bottom right of the main map to the Oort Cloud. Gives a bit more access to other locales
