I installed the Necron gates but I notice that my M6 and smaller ships (and all the TS's) never really enter the gate. Instead they approach the gate from the side and enter the event horizon OUTSIDE the rotating thing with lites. Only the ships that use the center of the gate go through the gate itself.

This is not a real problem except when it first happened I thought my ship was going to crash into the side of the gate. But just before I was going to kill auto control to avoid the collision my ship jumped into the next sector.

A small side effect of the entrance gate bug...

Small ships exit OUTSIDE THE PATH OF LARGER ONES. This model change reduces bug splattings to zero on jumps with TL/M1/M2s.

Personally I'd rather lose a little immersion to gain a fix to that old annoyance.

BTW if I remember correctly, a while back you mentioned that you were considering adding new gates to your ship/station mod. Is that still going to happen? or is this what you were working on towards that end? Either way, keep up the good work. :D

Excellent gate but why the autopilot conducts my ship by a gate? Sometimes even you jam in them and you blow up :cry:

If change gate size, small ships docking area (area when ship fly in an out the gates - very near the gate ring) are not changing, they are still very near the gate ring, because that area are hardcoded and calculating somehow depending from the gate 3D model.
Solek made Gate pack v1.0, where he created new gates 3D models and in these gates (not remember to all or some gates) - this small ships docking area are further (is further from the gate ring edges) then into the vanilla gates.

I'm really liking this mod, great work! Only problems I have are ones mentioned before, like the ships entering the gate outside the ring and changing from one gate to the other causes your savegame to crash, so I'm sticking to the B5 gate in this run. :wink:

How did you try to change? Once I had the same problem changing from one to the other gate in this package. Then I tried to remove the gate, load and save a game and installed the other gate and that worked.

I saved my game and exited, removed the gate, started game and tried to load save and......crash. I tried it in a couple different save points and same thing.

Well, I tried the Necron gate in another game and though it looks cool I kind of prefer the B5 gate, it really goes better with the X3 universe IMO. But if I want to try the Necron gate again, or any future one he may bring out I'll use your tip. :thumb_up: :)
