Is it possible to give a missle the possibilty to act as a Iondisrupter or PSG ?
I mean that it has a similar effect on the target like taking down only the shields or mainly the shields but not effecting the hull or only partial ?
Is it possible to make a missle ammo-based, like a "variation" of the mass driver: you buy a launcher and then an ammopack (with 3 to five missles/pieces of ammo i.e.)
And one more general question:
Is it possible to create a weapon (gun, beam, missle, whatever) that could shut down a ships systems (powergenerator, engine, shields, weapons, etc.) ?

Re: Question about missle properties
Just set the missile damage to only shield damage with no hull damage. It can and will still do hull damage though. If the shield impact is greater than the shield value, then the remaining damage turns into hull damage + whatever the hull damage is set to.Nicolo Golo wrote:Is it possible to give a missle the possibilty to act as a Iondisrupter or PSG ?

If you mean a laser that fires missiles, no. You can make guns that require ammo, but in X2, you can't set different ammo types, so everything would use whatever occupied the Mass Driver Ammunication ware slot.Nicolo Golo wrote:Is it possible to make a missle ammo-based, like a "variation" of the mass driver: you buy a launcher and then an ammopack (with 3 to five missles/pieces of ammo i.e.)
Nope. You can do large shield drain at best, but the shields will charge as normal if they don't get damaged. If you are looking for a weapon that destroys systems, try taking an Ion Disruptor effect, and applying 1 hull damage to it. The hull damage has a chance of destroying something each impact, and the ID impacts alot.Nicolo Golo wrote:And one more general question:

Missiles only have one damage value.SteelRush wrote:Just set the missile damage to only shield damage with no hull damage. It can and will still do hull damage though. Either they do shield + hull damge or they do not.
That missiles are generally more effective against hull is because the shield value of a ship is typically far higher than it's hull value.
Since missiles do equal damage to either...
1 GJ of shield damage and 10 points hull damage... per shot - with an extreme rate of fire.Nope. There's your system-destroying laser.

Interesting, so the Hull Damage field in X2 Editor is mislabeled. Do we have updated descriptions of the fields in TRockets somewhere?Gazz wrote:Missiles only have one damage value.SteelRush wrote:Just set the missile damage to only shield damage with no hull damage.
