I make some tests in Linux version of this game, ok, all working, but I am stuck when I try make new BBS missions...
I try rewrite the 440001.XML (inside 01.dat) but the new package (make with x2build) dont work (the game crash).
Then I unpack all but the game dont work (full unpacked), receive a error when unpacking the 02.dat, maybe is this de cause of this second problem.
In any case if I move any dat from the root from game this dont work anymore... (dont found data folder error)

I need more informations about how unpack and repack and how use the game without the dat files.

Another question... A found not one but 3 Xenon invasion in same sector and accept all (maybe is a fun war) and after kill all only one mission end and pay... I dont see more spawn of ships. I try jump to shenon sector and kill all M1, dont work. I have many patrolls in the sector now and dont have enemies to kill.
Is a bug or I need wait some time for this end?

...one more. The get notoriety dont work... Away zero (0), now I read this in a guide (is a bug, maybe...) If at last I have a global variable who have this value, have? I need for solve some type of conflict between my friends who turn enemies after collision or friend fire in a big war scenario... :-/

Only to report.

I have 3 AL operational.

1) Stations under attack request help, some times and pay for help (some times dont). A enemy, a pirate, all type of station need help.

2) Khaak floating without purpose receive a call to war and attack the sector, if dont have khaak in one verified sector some "floating" are conjured. I think in some type of level to this... Is very dangerous.

3) Friend fire "compensation". If someone is like me and love arrive in a big swarm with a small pirate bayamon with 4 ions and shot many friends in process, this is a good chose. The idea is, if I shot someone I need pay for the "trouble", and all ok. Anyone is friend again.

Ideas half developed...
1) Dominations of universe. I see some similar in X3 news... I dont know, maybe is the same. Pirate, Khaak, someone with weapons, time and noting to do.

2) Faction wars (big wars). I have half operational... Include sector tacking by one side, stations take/destruction... Is a universal dynamic event. :D

3) New weapons and events... I make a black hole operational. :D
Ejector module.

4) More complex BBS missions.

I can't give you any useful advice on playing the game in unpacked mod, because I never did it.
And how do you unpack the game with those dos tools if you're on a linux system? With wine or something similar? I don't know how these tools behave on a linux system... I never had a problem using these two tools...
I am stuck when I try make new BBS missions...
Basically, it's not possible to add BBS missions (in the sense of "missions started by accepting an offer in BBS). These are hardcoded. With some good scripting, you can achieve something similar.

About tools:
Yes, I have Linux version of this two tools. In Windows game have a command line -r, +r or -raw, to play game in raw mode, this option dont work in Linux.

About BBS:
Yes, I know about the BBS working method but I think If I inject more BBS inside the 440001.XML file and make scripts do reply when this call is possible to me implement a good BBS system.
The idea is, make some generic BBS maps and modify dynamic with scripts.
Then I enable my BBS by script, wait the user accept and the script for the mission is called. Easy and clean, but I need play game unpacked (raw) or repack the dat... :-/
