It will collapse. SymTec ltd. did the same test in X3:R: Set Crystals Primary Resource.NavaCorp wrote:Will the game economy collapse, keep running or even improve?
Has someone tried the same experiment on X2?SymTec ltd. wrote:When I finished my tests this month, the economy still hadn't broken down. ECs were expensive, but available - even in those parts of the universe I did not have any influence or impact on.
That's why I think GOD somehow further influences the economy, so that breakdowns are impossible - but I have no proof, nor any starting point for further investigation.
Did you try to add new wares which don't exist in vanilla X2?Shadow dream wrote:as far as I know from tests in Pandora new wares are very difficult for the game. we added some wares for tests once, but the result was, that the creating was more expensive than the product was sold.
the game tries to use all given wares, but there might be (unknown) arguments changing the values in a non-wanted direction :-/

This is odd because the player's SPPs do use crystals as primary resource while the npc SPPs use them as secondary resource.Chris Gi wrote:I'm not sure something similar will work for X2 at all. I once created a SPP for the player by script. Despite the fact that I also scripted in enough crystals, the SPP didn't produce any ECs while crystals were defined as primary resource. Instead I had to define them as secondary resource even for the player stations. Only then the SPP started to produce ECs.
I'll try it in the small map supplied with X2 and see what happens: if SPPs still work then I'll try to put crystals as primary resource in every npc SPP on the large custom-galaxy, run it on SETA 10x for 4-5 days and see what's happen. If the economy doesn't survive then I'll try to place npc energy-cell loops in every sector and run SETA 10x again for days.Maybe using the X2 Editor will work, haven't tried that. It may make a difference if crystals are defined as primary instead of secundary resources from the start on instead of the approach I tried out.
