Questions about the plot invariably lead to spoilers, so it's over we go...

I am in a sour/un-caffinated mood...but...I will try and help out a bit...
Making money is tough in the beginning. This game in general is grueling and can be quite difficult to get anywhere in.
That said, there are plenty of hax *ehem*...Mods that you can put into the game and a TON of exploits you can use to dumb it down if you suck, or are one of the people that would rather have everything and bitch about not having anything to do in the game...more of those out there than you would think.
To start, legitimately, you are going to have to learn how to fly better. Once you learn how the w,a,s,d keys work it becomes MUCH harder for the computer to hit you. Fight Command Software Mk2 is super. Hit the "k" button untill the "Auto-Aim" in the bottom left says 'Auto'...then you just have to point your ship at the little plus-sign thing in front of the enemy you have targeted, use the 'bore-fire' button and, assuming they do not change course you will hit them...most likely. Um...Shift+'T' will target the nearest enemy (at the time of pressing it)...that can keep you from chasing enemies around when you have two right behind you. Honestly...there is ALOT to learn...just keep playing, we have all died in horrible and VERY ANNOYING ways.
Making money comes with time...you will get the hand of it.
good luck, and good gaming to ya.

Re: Help X3 terran conflict !!!
IMO you should hold off doing the plot for a while till you have more credits/ships/equipment.RIDDIC990 wrote:hello i am new to the game, but i did play eve for a while. however, i have had the game for a while now, and i completly stuck, and and the algon pilot in the beginning, i have done the 1st story mission, but the second is hard, my ship keeps blowing up, i need help on a way to make money !!!! While the plot is not very hard it can be hard for a new player as this game has a lot to take in.
I would suggest first learn about the encylopedia its in the HUD and is very helpful, it lists all the ships/weapons/shields/missiles/trade goods etc that you come in contact with. The encyclopedia also lists where everything can be bought that you have come in contact with if it is buyable.
Secondly familiarize yourself with the icons on the sector map, this is very useful as the game has icons for all ship classes and factories.
Do some missions for the argon as you start in their territory and you already have some rank with them.
Combat missions don't pay very well till your fight rank increases but it can be useful experience building for you. I would suggest doing station defence missions as the enemies won't be very tough and won't be well armed. Do these missions in omicron lyrae as there is a sizeable task force there to start with and you can always just sit back and watch the action.
If you want a few quick credits you can find an abandoned ship nearby
Spoiler
Show
M4 Buster sentinal south of the west gate in tresure chest(about 20km)
take the weapons and shields of it to use on your own m4 or sell them
take the weapons and shields of it to use on your own m4 or sell them
Trading system extension - argon eq docks
Fight command 1 & 2 - argon eq docks
special command - argon eq docks
triplex scanner - military outpost blackhole sun or duplex scanner argon eq docks
Docking computer - saturn research station or legends home
Transporter device - free argon trading station heretics end
Jumpdrive - these are rare and the closest is Legends home
Cargo life support - teladi trading station grand exchange or pirate bases
Freight scanner - military outpost blackhole sun
mineral scanner - argon eq docks
Upgrade the speed on the ship you fly as its a force mulitplier and a lifesaver
Once you have CLS and or mineral scanner you can do some of the taxi missions and asteroid scanning missions.
You can eject from your ship and if it or another one of your ships is damaged you can repair them using your spacesuits inbuilt repair laser just don't point it at neutral ships as its considered a hostile act.

Whenever I see somebody asking for help like this I always tell them to maybe trade all of their shields and weapons in, apart from one shield, to give them more money. Then do some trading, gradually increasing the maximum speed of your ship, the tightness of its turning, and the size of its maximum cargo until you feel it is not worth doing any more. After that you can gradually save until other equipment can be bought.
I am sorry that I cannot give you address (maybe somebody could?) but I know that there is a list of available cargo and ships that you can just collect. These include three prototype M3's (or is it four ships?) as well as lots of others. You can even trade them in for extra cash, but if you do that then take all the weapons/equipment off the ship first as that way it could either be added to your own, or sold for more money.
Good luck

good luck soldier
i would recomend u to get a personal transport, u might need to do a mission or two, but not to many, the terran one is best suited for this job, terran scabbard, map the universe until u find a marine training barracs or some marines at a military base, hire them, take the race u have higest rank with, and cap a biggie, a argon mammoth for example, they are quite easy to find. it wil net u 20 m and be a perfect way for a good start ingame.
ship? what ship? i see no ship? WHO SPAWNED THAT DESTROYER!!!!!

Here's a list, but keep in mind this is only 100% accurate at the very start of the game.

Also you can add to the various orders you give your weapons by perchasing command equipment from the equipment station. There are two and both are less than 10K in total I think. Maybe save a game before you purchase any then try them both seperately to see which you prefer - or of course just go ahead and by them in one go.
