Merroc's Asteroid List (TC 1.4)
**support dropped & link removed, 3 August 2011**
Im back with a new list of asteroids, this time for TC 1.4.
There are two versions this time, both are made in Office 2007, one is in the new .xlsx style MS invented for some reason. Doesnt work in anything proir to Office 07 (doesnt work in OpenOffice3 either, it crashed).
Then there is the .xls version, which has compatibilty issues (see the sheet inside the document), resulting in reduced functionality (the list is still there, the pivot tables most likely wont work). This one can be opened in OpenOffice 3, but again here the pivot tables dont work. The .xls also has the annoyance that it thinks there is a macro, but i deleted it... So dont worry its not there .
Enjoy.

There are some duplicate asteroids but not because of an error in your file. Simply put there are duplicate asteroids in the X3TC universe. I experienced that the hard way in Tears of Greed. Two Silicon asteroids at x-8400 y-2311 z18698. You only see one 'roid but there are two there. When you plant a silicon mine on the first one you hear the "bump" sound and the mine starts losing shields. The only way I found around this was with the Complex Cleaner mod that took the mines and added them to the mega complex.

This reminds me of X3R. There were some Asteroids added by a patch. Triples, always triples. Like 3x64 Sil in the second Unk below southern Paranidia. And they seemed to have a bit random co-ordinates in some people's games (quite sure there was a thread about that couple years ago ...).X-Warrior B AS wrote:I can confirm that there are actually two of them out there in Cho's Defeat, close together. They are seperate in my game. Just found them last Saturday
Thus, the logical guess is that Dev has placed two/three objects to same coordinates with expectation that the "avoid collision" engine creates them a bit apart, creating minor randomness in your game. But then the rocks have spawned happily at identical coordinates for several users. Never trust the computer.
Merroc, Any plans to update this for V2.1.
I'm looking to add it to my stats and resources excel sheet (http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php? ... sc&start=0) since a couple of people have requested it now.
Alternatively do you run a script to get the source data? If so which one?
