I also use the missle hotkeys and the weapon quickswap hotkeys. I have several global configs set up but use the weapon quickswap set up for:
first tap - ion cannons
second tap - gauss cannons for when laser energy runs out
third tap - beam weapons
fourth tap - ion shard railguns

I find this essential for quickly taking down shields and then nail the enemy with gauss cannons or whatever but I use a lot of imported ships with more than 8 weapon slots and as you know it is very annoying.

I know you said its easy to put the hotkeys back in but its only easy when you know how to do it. is there any chance you could explain what you need to add?

Oh and thanks a lot for updating a lot of the other scripts that were previously out of date; I use quite a few of them. Thanks again for all your hard work it is appreciated.

Uncomment the "register hotkey" lines in setup.wob.wse.plugin.xml.

Lines 18, 27, 36, 45, 54.

Umm call me an idiot but they won't comment out.

I open the said script in the editor
go to line 18 and press the . key to uncomment out and nothing

I can comment in and out anything that is already commented in but not something that is commented out.

What am I doing wrong?

Sorry... it is a buglet in X-Studio which I used to create the file.

Can you recreate the commands? If not, then I can post a version with the hotkeys enabled.

Vidar...?

Post by Braekyn »

Anyway to make this script work for ships that have more than 8 weapons in a slot? The vidar can only switch the first 8 - not to mention several M1's with 10-gun-arrays.

EDIT: Read through the post and found the fix - will give it a shot

Hi, great job!

But why would you cripple your great work by removing the Quick-Profile hotkey?

For everyone who has problems getting them back in:
DrBullwinkle wrote:Uncomment the "register hotkey" lines in setup.wob.wse.plugin.xml.

The lines like
$hk.Hotkey = register hotkey $s.Text.01 to call script ´plugin.wob.wse.quickprofile´
need to look like this:
$hk.Hotkey = register hotkey $s.Text.01 to call script 'plugin.wob.wse.quickprofile'

#edit

Well, i changed line 18, it compiled, but i have no Quickprofile hotkey options in my X3AP control options.

Is there anything else i need to change or reload/reinstall etc ?

Yes, that is correct. X-Studio changes single quotes (') to (`) when making comments. I am so accustomed to changing them back that I forgot to mention it.

The profile keys never worked reliably for me. That is why I removed them. But I left the code in so that people could easily change it back if they wanted to.

I am glad it worked out for you. :)

Just tested WSE 2.02. This is my feedback. It is only my point of view - I do not claim to be the truth in the last instance.

I thought I could use it instead of Bombardier but I couldn't.
Swithing profiles throgh menu and listing during the battle is uncomfortable, while the Bombardier can save eight (enough?) loadouts with turret orders. You just need to set up them in YOUR ship menus and tap hotkey to save. No need to remember profiles name and write them each time you need to save one. You just need to remember, for example, that profile "1" is long range, "2" - shot range, "3" - 1+turret attack my target, "4" - 2+ turret attack my target, "5" shield only weapons , "6" ammo weapons - for each of your ship.

Quick swap key (which I had activated editing script) doesn't work with personal profile - only with Global. WHY!? Setup global profile is a long story.
You have to remember what guns to what turrets fits, how many guns in each turret. After that you have to name each profile. Editing name is full rewrite of this name. And it does not works with turret orders (Bombardier -does). So if you patient enough and have good memory you may set profiles for the main guns and use in turrets auto-swithing scripts only - vanilla or modded. With MARS and SMART turrets it is comfortable enogh for ships up to M6.
But using WSE Quick Profiles for capitals It is too difficult or even simply no need - if you don't use tricky tactics with different turret orders and specifid guns for different turrets you may satisfied with SMART Turrets Behaviour using Cycle hotkey for different orders for all turrets simultaneously.

Why the quick swap key just can't use "Your ship" profiles? It would be much easier to use!

Just a quick query, is this the mod changing the names of all my missiles from basic names like "Banshee Missle" to "Banshee Missile 75k 150m/s 14km Med", or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Cheers
