Couldn't download the file. (that "download now" links just redirected me to the page i've already been on)

although it looks very good from afar :D

Since i sadly don't know what informations it contains, I'll present you my own weapons chart:

http://www.box.net/shared/89ku8c36gp

i calculated additional pseudo-values to compare several attributes of the guns, put them into more or less logic groups and added some meaningless graphs. damage values are damage-per-second as stated in the ingame encyclopedia. all vanilla stuff.

Yes, probably does on the new map. I've not tried to be compatible with OpenOffice thus far but I'll have a look at doing an OpenOffice version.

Edit: I can't open the excel 2007+ version in openoffice but I can open both of the excel 2000/2003 files - have you downloaded them to try? Shame that the sort buttons don't work and the tabs are not coloured in OpenOffice but then it's pretty good for free.

I've justed tested each link, all works ok for me. Filefront can be a bit problematic at times, try it again. Also could try holding CTRL and clicking download. Failing that try another browser, Opera works well for me.

The 2000/2003 files worked. I tried the 2007+ version again, and this time it worked. It was crashing when trying to link files, but went smoothly today.

Sort buttons never worked for me, but I never considered that to be a problem worth mentioning. I'm familiar enough with spreadsheets that I can get sorts the way I want them.

The tab colors come and go. I haven't figured out why, but it's not a show stopper either.

The sort use VBA code so I guess not supported properly in OpenOffice, or some version of perhaps.

I just want to say thanks for producing this stats compendium.

Before i found this, i used to write down all my game info eg: factory prices, ship specs, maps etc. so i can appreciate the effort it must of took to put all this stuff together.
I wish i had known about this ages ago.

So, thanks a lot for creating this great collection of important info.

I'm in awe, so many numbers! I like that.

The download link worked first time for me but the download speed was very slow, it took about half an hour on my 25meg broadband.

Update to V3.2:
- Bug/Typo Fixes - Thanks to nponoBegHuk for spotting them all:
....TS: Caimen Tanker renamed to Caiman Tanker.
....M4: Periclese Raider/Sentinel renamed Pericles Raider/Sentinel.
....M5: Pirate Kestrel laser mount numbers updated to 2+2 from 4+1.
....Race Ranks/ Corp.Rank & Rewards: Race name typos.
....Map: Removed GGG as shortcut from player sector since it doesn't apply to all selected player sector names.
....HQ Prod Costs: Fixed filter [drop down] sorting on excel 2007/2010 version of the spreadsheet.
- Changed rank numbers to range from 10 to -5 instead of 1 to 16; inline with common rank numbering.

Will there be any chance in a future update of having the S, M and L prices of each ship instead of just the max (L) price?

The type 'tships' file doesn't have these values, at least not in a form I can work out. So, does anyone have the data or formula for calculating the S and M prices from the L price?

Spotted a mistake that's been there a while- the Boron Thresher's mounts are swapped for the back and right turrets :)

Got it, I'll correct it in the next version.

Anyone have an answer to my question above about getting the S & M ship prices from the L price?

I think you have that backwards. You should start from the price of the ship, then add average price for the equipment it comes with in the various configurations--so that would generally be a single 1MJ shield for S. M and L are more complicated because the number and type of shields and weapons fitted will vary depending on the ship type.

I don't find different prices of the ships useful. At least not as useful as specifying which equipment each "size" carries - which is difficult to gather. And the prices vary with your trade and faction ranks so are not very reliable.

What I'd include is something like "total size of wares needed for building" column for each ship in HQ production or... mmm... remove the unbuildable ships from that list (or implement a "Buildable" column with Yes/No values to be able to filter them off if you don't want to remove them completely)

Also I think Terraformer race is more fitting for Terran #deca, since it's description is This appears to be one of the huge CPU ships originally dispatched from Earth to terraform planets and has been modified for a defensive role.

I agree about the prices..

I've been thinking of adding columns with information from your 'Complete List of Ship Sources' so users can filter on criteria such as 'buildable'.

The source data has the #deca as Terran, whether that makes sense or not.

Sure, just bear in mind that Pirate Pirate Ship and Terran Xperimental Shuttle cannot be Reverse Engineered, and Goner Ranger can be Reverse Engineered but not built.
