Possible to skip the X3TC Launcher?
Does anyone know how to launch X3TC directly? That is, is there a way to skip the launcher and just load the game with the current settings?

I don't think there is. But, if it's any consoltation you can do this:
-Open up the launcher
-Open up the task manager
-Go to processes
-End Process called explorer
Desktop should dissapear. It APPARENTLY improves frame rates. Can't be too sure myself, but at least it gives the launcher some use.
Oh, and to bring Explorer back up press New task in the task manager and Explorer should be there ready to be started up again. If not, you can just type in explorer manually. Works either way. If neither way works, there is always that great restart button usually found on the front of the computer.

Would it be possible so that when I put my DVD to the drive I get the launcher and not that stupid autorun menu Install, Manual etc.? I am gettting bit upset having to close this stupid window everytime and then open the launcher. I know it is a detail, but someone in Egosoft should have thought about it.

Yeah but explorer restarts itself a few seconds after you kill it. At least it does on my Vista Ultimate install.Whitegaurd wrote:I don't think there is. But, if it's any consoltation you can do this:

You can disable autorun. Then you just run the game from a shortcut, Not exactly what you asked for, I know. But I don't think there is a way to do both disable the autorun and automatically run the launcher.plynak wrote:Would it be possible so that when I put my DVD to the drive I get the launcher and not that stupid autorun menu Install, Manual etc.? it does work for TC, doesn't gain an awful lot tho - certainly not what the OP was asking for. Going straight from the desktop to playing the last saved game would be great!Cycrow wrote:run the exe with the -noabout and it should go straight into the game.
at least it did for X3, not tryed it with TC, but i assume its the same

Quite a bit late to the party, but since i was googling for an answer, i can confirm that -noabout still works with Farnham's Legacy.

In which case, you probably should've posted that info in a new thread in the Farnham's Legacy forum. This thread is too dead to be resurrected.

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.
