[SCRIPT] Salvage Claim Software : V1.21 : 20-01-2010

Had lots of hair pulling last night and this morning - from a couple of hours testing I can see a few repeatable issues as follows:
- Installing NPC Salvagers + Salvage Commands (ThisIsHarsh) breaks the SCS script.
Issue that arises is in-game the ware either A) disappears from freight list of ship and from equip dock (but still exists in the ships cargo as it takes up 4 slots of space) or B) disappears from ship cargo list and in equip dock is listed as a ware at the top with no name or description and a value of 28cr (with station showing as 0/2 stock with ship registering 1 installed).
- Hit and miss process of restoring the script. I think this could be caused by the Plugin Manager not correctly creating the cat/dat files (mine are 06). Nearly every time I exit the plugin manager (beta 6 running under Vista64) I get a Windows error saying application has stopped working when updating Game Directory. This is after uninstalling / reinstalling the SCS script.
- Only method I have found to resolve so far is to remove NPC Salvager script and SCS script, exit Plugin Mgr, delete last Cat/Dat files, open Plugin Manager, close again and delete Cat/Dat pair again, then re-install the SCS script and exiting Plugin Mgr. This step may need repeating if the application hangs on exit as it only seems to work when the Plugin Manager has a clean exit.
- Also have a suspicion that installing other scripts may also have the same effect in breaking SCS but have just managed to install a new marine script and then use above remedy to get it working again.
Overall on my setup it would seem you can have multiple scripts active with SCS but cannot have SCS and NPC Salvagers running together. Not sure why this is because I used to be able to run them both without issue.
Any ideas how I can try to debug this - seems to be more to do with installation / uninstallation of scripts outside the game.

I had the same issue with it not showing up and the plugin manager messing up (beta 6), but after several tries of removing it, deleting the cat/dat files, and reinstalling it I finally got the plugin manager to exit without the crash message.
After that the ware didn't show up on an initial load, so I saved and loaded again.
Then the ware shows up in all Teladi docks (even NMMC headquarters), but the hotkey wasn't showing up. A second save/load made the hotkey show up, and it has been working ever since. I flew out and grabbed the advanced barracuda to test it, and it claimed it just fine.
Thanks Cycrow! This and your Improved Boarding script are things the game should have shipped with (I honestly can't see how the developers could have missed the need for a boarding hotkey.)

I have this script installed, and it works as advertised. However sometimes when I claim a pirate ship in mid-battle, all the other pirates go friendly to me and the local police/navy shoot down my newly acquired ship(s). My global settings still show pirates as Foe.
I can attack individual pirates and turn them red but this doesn't affect the rest nor the fate of my captures.
I've also had one instance of claiming an abandoned ship (Buster, Black Hole) which was also destroyed by the navy.
Any ideas? I've tried uninstall/reinstall and am using the updated PM scripts.

Thank god everyone else is having the same problem as me.
I used this script in x3r and it was great, I remember the first time I captured an m6 I was in extacy, The marines in this are still nice but it would be a lot more handy if could get this to work

Cycrow, oh godly god like god of modding(modding can also be turned into an annogram of god mind ), please fix this, it adds so much more to the x3 experiance

Hmmm, it might be worth mentioning that I have the NPC bail installed and the marine repairs, and the SCS...and they all are working..lol. But it is a little finicky, I have to uninstall and reinstall the scs sometimes as it just disapears from the ED and when I reinstall it, it comes back..of course it has disapeared at the worst times, like today, I wasnt even using it yet, restarted my game and just disabled my first corvette... and cant get it, even in the spacesuit. Thats the problem I saw, when it goes out theres no capping at all, none, even at 12 metters the only thing I get the chance to do is add the ship to a monitor or see the info.

Hey Cycrow; very nice script! I have a question. I'm having some strange crashes/ctd that I cannot seem to figure out. I just noticed that I did not have those additional scripts for the plugin manager applied as you instructed. Would this possibly cause a ctd? I don't want to jinx myself but after installing those I seem to be doing okay. Thank you sir.

This script just doesn't work for me. I've tried it with NPC Bailing Addon, without it, doesn't matter.
I've got the updated plugin manager files per the first post, installed the SCS spk with the plugin manager and I've enabled use custom wares (SCS even shows up in the custom wares list in the plugin manager).
I even tried running the setup script manually. Nothing works.
What's the deal?

Just up date from 1.3 to 1.4 and then right away to 2.0a
Now i lost the claim ship command in piracy menu
In Teladi EQ i have a phantom product with 0/2 slots - thats the SCS but thers nothing, no text, no price
Looks like a problem with wares in 2.0a rev
Cycrow to the rescue ....

Reinstalled X3TC got old save game corrupted, ehhh ok i'll try again.
So patched to 2.0 a first then plugin manager and some scripts
