Yikes, this is starting to get ugly here,lol. I also have tryed several times, from getting new files for the loader, to loading the scs several times, to going into the script manager and trying to get a load or hotkey from there. Found the hotkey link there and hit R and enter, it seemed to work, but none was in controls when I looked for it...then tryed manually setting the scs setup in script manager, same thing..no hotkeys no wares, the manager has wares set to run but no go..just a little weirdness before getting it figured out, I'm sure..have the beta 6 manager installed and used it for all this so far.
basically the script checks if the ware exists, and it doesn't add the command nor the hotkey if it doesn't exist.
so the problem is with the ware. There are several thigns you could try. Use the cheat scripts to check if the ware is available in the lists somewhere.
also you could enable debug log in the manager and send me the log and/or your created files.
i will add an option in Beta 7 to create a package of all files that could be useful to finding the problem so you can simply send me the package so i can check

Ok, just did a whirlwind tour of TC again, still not in, and checked all the custom equipment docks and copr docks just in case. Went back to the manager, I'm sure you knew that theres 2 settings for custom wares in it, one up front and one in Modules..both are checked, and custom wares is now open to see, and the file for scs is there..Salvage Claim Software Tech...SS_WARE_CY_SCS....and I'm willing to admit ignorence, have debug set to full and looked in every file folder and cant find it anywhere.
Ok, got it.(.stops to kiss cycrows ring)...I did everything you said, but didnt realise theres 2 places that custom wares need set. I did the first one and nothing happened, but when you mentioned going in to set debug, I found the second one in "Modules" that needed set, and yes, being an idiot sometimes, I tryed checking the universe to see if they were in dif teladi docks, with out thinking I didnt have sats there, so if theres no sats or I'm not there, I cant see everything in the dock, only when I'm in sector..and they are now on sale in Getsu Funa...for 4.5 mil..hope some of the other guys werent as dense as me, and tryed checking the whole universe sitting at a dock..lol.

Ok, I finally got this working. After shutting down my game, uninstalling the package (again ) and removing the last .cat/.dat, when I added the package again it worked.
Oddly now though when ever I restart my game, all of the wares disappear from the game and from my ships that had them.
Also, they don't show up by name, only says 'ReadText17-200000'

sounds like the ware file is created properly, as its getting the correct readtext.
im guessing its the text file thats a problem, have you set the plugin manager to use the correct language ?
bigdan, its in the configuration menu, goto debugging, and set it to full debugging
or run the program with -verbose

It seems like every time I install a new script it breaks SCS. After installing the Complex Construction & Cheat scripts it disappeared completely. I tried reinstalling using beta 6 of the Plugin Manager & nothing - no ware (checked EQ docks and the add-ware cheat). So I tried going back to beta 5, and it crashed when trying to install SCS, and still no ware in the game. But, when I just double-click the .spk file it adds the ware & works fine.
I didn't try this with beta 6, but am assuming it works the same way with that version as well.

Ok, i stand in line with the rest on haveing problems with this. Its eather SCS, Plugin manager, EMP, or lv's jumpdrive kit.
Jumpdrive kits show up fine in docks and work fine for me. When i install SCS thats when it all comes apart. I have custom warez on in PM, install SCS, make sure i tick the box in custom ware for this, exit PM then launch game. Once in game my text on JDK goes blank (commands still work tho to install them), i see SCS for sale on the dock but its 4.5 million and i believe 2 items there go to WARE_01 (i can look up in game to get correct name if needed).
Now of course if i dont do the checkmark on my mod file in PM then SCS doesnt show up anywhere in game (checked with add ware cheat) and all the names of everything i have are fine.
I think when i checked on the files in the packager SCS was showing up around 160k or something like that.

I don't have EMP or LV's jumpdrive kit, and have the same problem.
I do have the following installed:
Community Plugin Configuration

so the custom wares that is being created, is created of the base game files and not emp.
as EMP is a normal mod, you need goto configuration, enable ware control module.
then in the wares tab, make sure EMP is selected
+1 vote to get this signed if/when the BP arrives. THIS is how the vanilla sos should work.
i could understand sos being illegal if it could hack an occupied ship (not something i'd want, and we have marines now anyway), but for something that serves no function other than stopping your spacesuit getting creased it's a bit silly.
haven't got it in tc yet but this was (and still is) one of the critical addons for me in x3r (along with xtm, xenon migration, scorp's map and unitrader's hud)

Well i did have ware control module selected in options when i did that, and here is a pic of my custome wares right now. When i did that dialog there i had EMP showing in the mods sub window, after i check marked there there and exited, now when i go back there is nothign there in the mods section, although wares do show up in the ware window on the bottom.

Should the EMP tab disapear after the first time its selected?

So I uninstalled everything I had and reinstalled them one by one. I got the SCS to work, but it disappears as soon as I install the NPC Bailing Addon. When I uninstall the bailing addon, the SCS works again. This relevant? Is there a different order I'm supposed to install them in?

Slightly different issue but may help track down something.
Backdrop as follows:
I had an odd issue with a station defence mission that sent a load of pirates at me - managed to get 2 M6's and an M8 to bail but I couldn't claim any of the ships. The pilots definitely bail as I see them floating around in their tin foil suits, but the ship doesn't seem to empty correctly, when i click on the target i have the option to 'Scan' (as if it is still piloted) but not to claim.
Then I restarted the same mission last night to test some things out, and it seems that something has slightly changed in how the salvage command works for me (think i either re-initiated the script or uninstalled / reinstalled to test).
What happens now is I can claim the ships only if I fly into close range where pressing 'info' will bring up details of the ships loadout / cargo etc (think its less than 2k or 1.5k, something like that) - then it seems to be cappable.
Outside this range (between 2-5k) when i try to claim I get a voiceover telling me 'command rejected' or somesuch.
I only noticed this recently - it used to work 100% of the time at any range under 5k with just the hotkey.
I dont have EMP mod running and still see salvage claim software in trading stations. I recently installed the jumpdrive kits script and the latest npc bail script (but am going to delete jumpdrive kits as I dont need them yet). Only mod I have running is the new engine colours.
Any ideas? It's not a big deal really as being able to cap a ship from 5k out was a bit of a luxury!

It was listed as ZA_EMP_BLANK_WARE_CUSTOM1_2 for 983,024cr.
Cycrow, I hope you don't mind, but I edited your t file and added a boardcomp "10253 - Salvage Claim Software MkII". I doubled it's price too, but I think it's still too cheap at 1.9M.
Everything works fine now though.

Hi Cycrow and others. This is a great Script have used it on X3 R and now on X3TC But if i install MARS Turret Scirpts I have the same troble as most of you other guys.
The Ware does not appear in the EQ Docks.
But if I run the Script direct i.e. not via the Hot Key but via the script editor it Captures the SHIP.
So my conclusion is that the Hotkey/ware is getting mixed up with the MARS installed scripts.
Is any of that useful ?
