Is there any way to hide the sidebar when I'm not using it?
I'm using a joystick, so the "Hide sidebar in mouse follow mode" option setting doesn't do anything for me.
I know I can switch to classic flight mode which removes the sidebar, but that switches off the mouse completely. I like using to mouse to select targets.
The default flight mode works almost perfectly for me, allowing me to fly with the joystick and select stuff with the mouse, but it leaves the sidebar which is a bit of an unnecessary distraction. Maybe if I had a widescreen monitor it wouldn't be so bad, but with a 4:3 monitor it just feels like I'm giving up way too much screen width to largely wasted space.
I don't mind if it's a manual action that I can map to a button to show/hide the sidebar, or an automatic process that happens when I move the mouse away from the left hand side of the screen.
Hiding the sidebar?

Wow, this is like you read my mind dude, i was getting around to asking this myself for the very reasons you stated. I use a joystick but i like to use the mouse for selecting targets. It would be nice to have the sidebar auto-hide, by sliding off-screen, and appearing when you move your mouse near it or something.

I would prefer that the sidebar auto-hides until you enter it by pressing ENTER. I don't want the sidebar to suddenly appear when I am attempting to select targets on the left side of the screen. This should be configurable.Khaak_Slayer wrote:It would be nice to have the sidebar auto-hide, by sliding off-screen, and appearing when you move your mouse near it or something.
