Autopilot speed issue (bug or setting conflict)

Post by Blind Avarice »

I'm running the Sabre I started with, maxed out the engine upgrade so my full speed is 275 m/s. However, if I have another ship set to follow me that is slower, my autopilot truncates my max speed to slightly under the max speed of the ship set to follow me- in this particular case, 107 m/s. I don't know if this is a bug or some default setting I can change, but I would like to if possible. I see the purpose in matching speeds to other ships on autopilot, so I can imagine this being an intended result. Does any veteran player know what's going on here?

Basically as you noticed, because you have the other ship(s) set to follow you or protect you, the auto pilot limits your speed to something they are capable of keeping up with. its worth looking at upgrading theyre speed and rudder tunings so they have a higher speed than you, which makes them good for chasing down pesky M5's
