I may get modded or suspend for this, but to be honest I am past caring. Egosoft bans DRM discussion under the guise of 'preventing piracy discussion'. In all honesty this is just a feeble attempt by Egosoft to spare themselves the inconvenience of addressing their poor DRM choices. Ubisoft themselves underwent a class action suit for their choice of DRM, yet they allow HEALTHY DRM discussion in their forums as long and you don't specifically offer tips or links to bypass DRM.
The fundamental flaw is that companies use third party DRM system, which aside from being intrusive, and often harmful to peoples gaming experience, have LONG since been coded around by the 'pirates' which Egosoft seems so afraid of. Now I myself have bought X3:TC because DESPITE of the Tages system, I felt that their game was worth my money. That being said I must sadly state that until Egosoft either abandons, or adopts a less intrusive and limiting DRM system, I will no longer be buying any of their products.
Now PLEASE Egosoft before you engage in your mindless use of the banhammer, consider that you are only hurting the people who are LEGITIMATELY paying for you game. It's bad enough that your game is riddled with game stopping bugs, but you apply DRM which has long since been bypassed by pirate anyway. Will it take a class action suit for you to realize your only damaging yourselves, you will you simply use EA's tactic of blaming pirates because your DRM is angering your LEGITIMATE users into seeking alternate ways to make their games WORK.

It is not banned "under the guise" of anything. It is banned because people have repeatedly and consistently shown that they are incapable of discussing this potentially interesting and important topic without straying into territory that could get them, and this forum, into trouble.
Not only that but this is a Tech Support forum, not a soapbox, and the forum sticky threads clearly state that this is not the place to discuss the rights and wrongs of copy protection.
I'm not going to ban you, but I will ask you to respect the rules in future.
