Only plays in windowed mode

I have Vista 64 bit with patch 1.2 and all latest drivers but unless I select windowed mode I get a error message c0000005 on start up.
Any ideas why I cant play in full screen mode?

I can confirm that the game does indeed work in window mode =)

I can confirm it works fine in fullscreen mode on Vista 64, because that's how I'm running it! I have an ATI graphics card, though.

Out of interest, are you running Vista SP1, or the original release? Your 8800GTS has a lot of on-board memory, and there was a bug in the original Vista release that meant it would map all that memory into the user address space for a process, causing it to run out of memory that much sooner--could be possibly causing your issue.
