Problem with steam copy after patch 1.02 x3 ask me for the dvd

Hi everyoone i just intalled the game from steam, and suddenly after that i intalled the patch 1.02...guess what happen ------->

"please insert x3 terran conflic dvd"

but i dont have the dvd i got it from steam so how i can solve it? unistall and dont apply the patch?

im reinstalling it so it will see if was the patch. it will take some time lol i have to download it again

You shouldn't apply ANY patches from this website to a Steam version of the game--Steam handles all that by itself, so should have updated your game to 1.2 anyway.

well, that information WOULD have been useful 10 minutes ago. can you please put a warning on the site about that. the same thing happened to me

You probably don't have to download most of the game again, even if you use the wrong patch. Just use Steam's Verify Integrity of Game Cache tool. It's in the properties for the game.

it is not a real problem

I had the same thing.

You download the 1.2 patch, you run it, then you try to start the game from the "launch game now" button you get on the patach installer and you get the tages error.

Just close that and start the game from steam.

It updates a couple of files online, takes about 2 minutes and then starts as normal in 1.2. Thereafter, just starts straight away.

Works fine for me, vista 64.
