I did submit my request for DevNet...months & months ago. I'd venture a guess that it was late last year I think. Never heard back from anyone.CBJ wrote:Similarly if you wanted to know how far things have progressed with X Rebirth then you could sign an NDA and get involved in that, though that's a bit more of a commitment as we do expect people to actually participate if they join DevNet at that level.

CBJ... would I be correct and not out of bounds to point out to the user groups here that the same people who are level 5 DevNet members are the same ones that would be tapped to perform the closed beta should and when Rebirth get to that point?
So would it not also be disingenuous of you to say that the limited number of DevNet members while working on AP 3.0 would be unavailable for the beta test of said Rebirth if it were time for that?
So would then the users who complain about AP 3.0 being late also be correct that if Rebirth were ready for Beta testing they would have to wait until after AP 3.0 was done?
You don't have that many DevNet members... and this is not the only place on the net one could find info about what the lower DevNet guys already know.

Is there an e-form to fill out or something to join for rebirth ?CBJ wrote: Similarly if you wanted to know how far things have progressed with X Rebirth then you could sign an NDA and get involved in that, though that's a bit more of a commitment as we do expect people to actually participate if they join DevNet at that level.

Have you asked about the status of your NDA responce mail by sending an email to the address, which is mentioned on the NDA site?Cowski wrote:I did submit my request for DevNet...months & months ago. I'd venture a guess that it was late last year I think. Never heard back from anyone.
To become Level 5 scroll down to the bottom of your forum profile and fill in the DevNet details. Afterwards click on the NDA link on the bottom and follow the mentioned instructions.gandy|UKCS| wrote:Is there an e-form to fill out or something to join for rebirth ?

I was just under the impression I was not chosen to be part of the DevNet team. Figured it was a chosen few.X2-Illuminatus wrote:Have you asked about the status of your NDA responce mail by sending an email to the address, which is mentioned on the NDA site?Cowski wrote:I did submit my request for DevNet...months & months ago. And I will look for the email on this NDA site you speak of. Thank you for pointing this out to me.

I'm obviously not CBJ, but yes, the level 5 devnet people would be beta testers for Rebirth.BarrenEarth wrote:CBJ... would I be correct and not out of bounds to point out to the user groups here that the same people who are level 5 DevNet members are the same ones that would be tapped to perform the closed beta should and when Rebirth get to that point?
The level 5 devnet members may be unavailable, but there are considerably more devnet members at the lower level 3. It's likely those people who are doing the bulk of the work on AP 3.0 anyway. So would it not also be disingenuous of you to say that the limited number of DevNet members while working on AP 3.0 would be unavailable for the beta test of said Rebirth if it were time for that?

People working on and testing X3AP 3.0 do not have to have signed an NDA, i.e. they can be "normal" level 3 DevNet members. Those who have signed an NDA may indeed be involved in both projects, but the ones who are critical to the delivery of X3AP 3.0 are concentrating on that for now, leaving others to get on with the early testing of X Rebirth. There is no conflict of resources here.BarrenEarth wrote:...
Your misunderstanding may be the assumption that we don't have many DevNet members. The number of people who have signed up to basic DevNet membership runs into the tens of thousands. The NDA group is, of course, a lot smaller but there are still at least 10 times as many DevNet NDA-holders as there are Egosoft staff, and of those around half have so far signed up to test X Rebirth. Of that group, only about 5% are directly involved in X3AP 3.0.

No misunderstanding, that is why I asked you directly the question.CBJ wrote:People working on and testing X3AP 3.0 do not have to have signed an NDA, i.e. they can be "normal" level 3 DevNet members. Hopefully a summer release. It will fill the gap between now and getting Star Citizen - the X Games are proven to be awesome. For Star Citizen we still have to see, aside from that, Star Citizen has increased interest in the space sim genre which subsequently is good business for EGOSOFT especially considering X Rebirth should come out way before SC.
So, in short, a summer release would be good.

No just kidding. They must not just take anyone as there are several people I chat with that have been waiting for their NDA to be accepted for a long, long time now.

Or we are about to get an off-topic move and reprimand... either one.
