Aaaaaaand they are giving out for free for everyone, anyway. Which was the first thing I thought when someone told me it is going to be for free for 45 minutes only. :D

Ooh now Stellaris sounds interesting, any DLC that would be considered a 'must have' that I should get? (bought the bundle up to Stellaris already and currently downloading).

Utopia for all the megastructures it allows you to build is a "must-have" imo, though it isn't really since you can always find ruined ones without needing any DLC. Distant Stars adds a whole bunch of exploration content, though you can always dip your toes into the base game first to get a feel for the systems. Those two along with Federations would get my recommendation, in that order.

Quake 3, is that not the multiplayer game, without a single player story?

"Today" is a bit relative. :) It is free for 24 hours in total - at the time of this posting there is <21 hours left.
The game was just released today. I have no idea how this is working but can I have a free Porsche Taycan next please?

You just go to Epic store and "buy" it for free, same as you would for any other game buy.

Quake II might be free Bethesda launcher. I am pretty sure that one has a campaign even though it might be very pixely.
