That would be great, if LA would find the oportunity to add 'buy/sell/buy&sell' options on both FDN Nodes and FDN Trade Docks, what would also be handy is in addition to the Wares report, also have a Money report, so you can see where your money is going or comming from.StormMagi wrote:Hrmmm my bad I was thinking of the Complex Hub menu. The Node only has a yes/no trading option. Try disabling NPC trading with the Node and just rely on the trading dock. Maybe I can get LA to add in a buy/sell/buy&sell option for the node.
So I finally managed to set up a profitable system, I put all factories and complexes to 'not trade' I linked them all to a FDN Node also on 'not trade' I attached an FDN Trade Dock where I set some Stock volumes abd put pirces and set this one to 'Trade'. Now the money is comming in instead of leaking oput.
So far for the test scenario, now going to get to the real work

That's exactly how I use FDN.Xzan wrote:That would be great, if LA would find the oportunity to add 'buy/sell/buy&sell' options on both FDN Nodes and FDN Trade Docks, what would also be handy is in addition to the Wares report, also have a Money report, so you can see where your money is going or comming from.StormMagi wrote:Hrmmm my bad I was thinking of the Complex Hub menu. FDN is for the supply, management & storage of wares, it was not intended or built as a trade solution. There are far better trade scripts out there that really add to the game:
Cargo Delivery Service by klaatu ; Ware delivery
Commercial Agent (CAG) by Lucike ; Enhanced station trader
Commodity Logistics Software (CLS) by Lucike ; Ware delivery (can trade)
Economy and Supply Trader (EST) by Lucike ; Enhanced autonomous trader
Extended Trade Command Software by SymTec ; Creates repeating queue of simple trade
I added Trade Posts to provide an outlet which didn't directly expose the Nodes to player and NPC traders.
As for monitoring income, again far better scripts out there:
Trade Overview by ScRaT_GER ; Monitor and summarise trade transactions of ships and stations
Assets Summary : v1.02 by Carlo the Curious
I myself have only just started to experiment with FDN and available trade script, I mainly used FDN to support the infrastructure to supply and equip fleets.
I'm using a mixture of CAG, EST & Ext Trade Cmds and Trade Overview to keep an eye on things.
There is a real shortfall in the game when it comes to trading with stations and docks, you can't set the behaviour, Sell, Buy or Sell/Buy.

I've had great results with CAG when they are set as Sellers only, and when creating my own trade loops using Extended Trade Command Software.

I use 2 trade docks to sell my drugs to "the people" and use 2 other trade docks with Lucikes "Commercial Agent" to supply the surrounding sectors with energy and other stuff. Works fine.
I like FDN as it is now, without trading options. LA is right, there are plenty of scripts out there to provide you with the trade options you want.

They're in game settings, and yes I think they only applies to complexesStormMagi wrote:LA - So the Buy/Sell/Buy&Sell options are limited to complex hubs only?

There are two script commands <Var/Number> being TRUE/FALSE
Code: Select all
<RefObj> -> set intermediates buyable to <Var/Number>
<RefObj> -> set intermediates sellable to <Var/Number>

Indeed, it does majorly, my FDN Trade Dock keeps buying Argnu Beef, while the connected FDN Node has tons of it ... in the end I want the dock only to sell the stuff provided by the FDN Node ...StormMagi wrote:That sucks
So if anyone comes up with an idea how to stop Docks from buying stuff, I would reward them with great pleasure with 1.000.000 pieces of Argnu Beef ...

EDIT : A possible stupid question, if you put a CAP on Energy Cells (5.000.000 for example) what happens with the extra produced Cells ?

I set the trade docks to pass all money to me so they have no money to buy anything. Not ideal but it works.Xzan wrote:Indeed, it does majorly, my FDN Trade Dock keeps buying Argnu Beef, while the connected FDN Node has tons of it ... in the end I want the dock only to sell the stuff provided by the FDN Node ...StormMagi wrote:That sucks

They will stay at the station until the Nodes level is below the Cap.Xzan wrote:EDIT : A possible stupid question, if you put a CAP on Energy Cells (5.000.000 for example) what happens with the extra produced Cells ?StormMagi wrote:That sucks

Hi All,
I'm a bit behind on the next update
, hoped to have it done over the weekend but decided to add something else
I've actually been playing the game for a change! And one thing I found was that it's cumbersome to get around the Nodes & Relays once things start to expand.
So I've created a Node & Relay summary report opened by a short cut key, which can be used to navigate the deployed FDN elements. It only has Nodes and their linked Relays at the moment but I will be adding Unlinked Relays and Trade Dock.
The report will also give you a summary of what's going on, for Nodes:
- Status
- Linked Relay
- Storage
For the Relays
- Status
- Mode

Two solutions to that. Put a cap on the amount of beef the Trade Dock can hold and (once things are updated) it should stay full and then it will only sell. Or you can buy a racial trading dock, the nodes do keep those supplied (albiet with less than trading dock).Xzan wrote:Indeed, it does majorly, my FDN Trade Dock keeps buying Argnu Beef, while the connected FDN Node has tons of it ... in the end I want the dock only to sell the stuff provided by the FDN Node ...StormMagi wrote:That sucks

If you put a cap on a ware once the cap is reached the node won't pull any more and the complex/factory storage will fill up. Once that is full the production is stopped.
And yeah LA, I am playing more too although I am playing vanilla atm. Lost all of my high ranking UTs

I’m playing as Terran only except for a few stations not available to them (Adv Sat Fac).StormMagi wrote: And yeah LA, I am playing more too although I am playing vanilla atm. Lost all of my high ranking UTsbut before I lost them I have made 200 mill between them and my Spaceweed Complex (love 5 hours of 10x SETA).
I have a Trade Post in Venus making an obscene amount of money; I’ve had to increase Wraith & Terran fighter drone production to keep up with demand!
Although using trader ships in Terran space can be slow it’s safe, especially when you can set fleets at chock points and defend a lot of sectors.

Hi All,
This is what I have so far on the new FDN Summary menu/report:
[ external image ]
I can't think of anything else to add without making it too cluttered?
I hope to have a new release next week, I away from tomorrow so won't have chance to test & upload until Monday.

Yeah, I've been playing more and now starting to get kinda board since the Terran plot somehow got disabled on me by not taking on the mission after the bridge one. Also tried the plot reset scripts but didn't work that I know of so no Aldrin plot till I restart (Hoping the Heck I don't to, hate rebuilding).
Anyhow I'm looking forward to the next update.
