Just pure speculation here, but wonder if they done that cause they getting close :D
As someone else said in this thread a while back, ego tend to release on a friday, and it friday here where I am now
With the 64 bit exe being the primary now, that does make sense :)

I noted that 'limited cheats' suffix was also removed. This might not mean anything, but hey here's to 2.5 and rewriting the ui portion of a couple of mods :D

Of course I/all will be very angry at you if it is not released tomorrow :P :P :P
However if you are correct I will track you down and give you a hug

Well I have deleted all my saves and cleaned up things ready just in-case. Even de-activated all the mods as well..
Yes I know that Ego try to make things save game compatible, but the main mod I use (build shipyards) is going to require a fresh start, so no point in holding on to old games.

I have it on good authority that YAT and copilot convo still work fine on the legacy menu in 2.5 will have to wait and see for galaxy range + shady slater but I don't see much work for either to update them :)

Mum, Dad, Are we there yet?

:D

It should be this weekend because I have a curse that whenever I have something really important to do, gaming related developments clash. Enjoy my misfortune.

That's great to hear, I use both YAT and Copilot, so I will be able to reactivate them straight away after the update :D

I feel your pain, my weekend has just finished, and I go back to work tonight in about 11 hours time, knowing my luck they will update while I am at work away from the computer.

BurnIt! wrote:Quite an interesting discussion here.

I'd like to add a few things:

No doubt there are several issues with the game economy as it stands, one of the bigger ones being the lack of demand for high-end products (such as drones).
This typically has a cascading effect as drone productions run full, which means they stop producing, reducing the demand for their own resources (e.g. RMP) and so on - this eventually trickles down to the lower level wares and depending on which system you look at and also depending on player activity this may take more or less time to manifest itself.

We are working on improving this situation though so once 2.50 is ready to go live things should get better. This comes of course with the usual disclaimer that things can change before the patch is released...

So far we've made additions to the game which will increase the demand for some high-end products (primarily those needed for ship productions) and we've also identified a nasty bug with drone usage. That will hopefully increase the profit margins and reduce the chance of the economy stalling because it's clogged up at the top.
I don't want to promise too much because we still have to run some more simulations to see if there are any more issues once we've addressed the ones we already know about. Unfortunately this is a rather time-intensive process with many iterations.

A few words on the DeVries economy. I admit we haven't done a particularly good job of communicating that to players in the game but the idea was that DeVries is sort of a "playground" for station builders. There's only a handful of wares that are traded there and some needed items (e.g. for ship construction) are not even available at all which should provide some good options for setting up a monopoly.
so So SO your telling me that the next patch will not only bring pancakes, but also will come with free syrup on top, man im excited

Sounds more like a weeks worth of polishing off the Patch.
Personally it sounds like were not going to get it tomorrow.

Guess I can get back to my 3ds Max project while I wait.

I think you just went off-topic...by bringing us the voice of reason :)

It's definitely today. Without a doubt. Cast iron certainty that. They're beavering away like beavery people and about to get naked & greased, do the special dance and hit the button marked 'move to public beta'. I know these people, we fought together, they'd sooner die than not release today.

If you have stuff to do today or this weekend, don't worry, we won't interrupt your schedule with a patch/public beta release.
