Hi LV
finally I will try that script and have a small question before installing.
I run Cycrows Mercenaries Guild, too, and there are Missions where you have to protect sectors of an Invasion by another race. If I fight against the invaders will it be construed as an attack against this race or not?
My Empire is not atm that big (nor *g*) and it would not be really helpfull if I loose my factories and ships because I avoided the invasion by force of arms ^^

"Warning-Destroyer entering sector ..." - Which mod/script?
Anyone have this in their Vanilla/XTM game?
I'm running XTM with RRF and SEWN but can't figure out where this is coming from.
The signal never says what the sector name is, I even had the signal for a Xenon J for the sector I was physically in (The J had just come through the gate in Pat's Retreat) and it still didn't say the sector name. And I didn't have a SEWN SAT in that sector either. There is no log message and there is no graphical change/prompt on the Galaxy map.
That was the first time I have ever been in the sector in order to actually find the Destroyer before the RRF killed it.
Most of the time I simply can't scan the sectors quick enough to ever find the destroyer. If I can find out which mod/script I'd like to figure out how to tweak it to give some sort of text/voice or graphical notice of what sector it is calling in.
Thanks

"Warning-Destroyer entering Sector......." Can't locate sector in time!!
LV,
I asked this in open and only response I got was pretty sure it was RRF. If so is there anything I can edit to solve my problem with finding the sector in time?
EDIT: Okay I found the lines in the inv and invx scripts, now I just need to figure out what to add to either send a playerlog message or flash the map (as when your ships is under attack). I'll try to figure myself but I may have to come back to the expert for help.
Thanks

I've started looking in the scripts but haven't found anything yet. Can you point me anywhere close?I'm running XTM with RRF and SEWN but can't figure out where this is coming from.

That was the first time I have ever been in the sector in order to actually find the Destroyer before the RRF killed it. It will report even when I am sitting in my home sector (Unknown E of Pat's Retreat) by myself. And there is no destroyer in there with me.

the "destroyer entering sysytem" is part of RRF, there is always the potential for it to be destroyed by the gate meaning it's not there when you look
as far as the mercs guild, as long as Cycrow has added the local variable block "lv.jtp.block" to his cap ships they would not be part of it, as far as fighters go they should also not trigger a response

Hi LV,
I'm using RRF 1.7 (Balanced) along with XTM and it's great, however I am having issues with excessive Khaak M2s in my universe...I mean, really crazy numbers & they keep growing! The odd pair of M2s attacking a sector is pretty cool but entering a race sector and seeing 22 of them is a little mad!
The odd thing is that despite the massive numbers of Khaak M2s (easily in the 100s) the overall Threat Level is reportedly very low, like usually less than 10 & when I get the message in my log having killed say a Khaak M2 it will often report a negative threat level (...new level is -7...), though just in the Log.
I'm wondering is it because the game thinks the threat level is so low that it constantly spawns huge numbers of Khaak? In reality the threat level should be like 1000+ as whole groups of sectors (Argon & Teladi most noteably) have been totally wiped out.
When I first noticed this I was a fairly humble trader cruising around in my Elephant with very little in the way of heavy firepower other that a trio of Thor MkIIs which get owned by just a single Khaak M2.
I know others are experiencing the same Khaak spam. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Scoob.

Thank you!
I've changed my RRF setting to the lower setting to prevent new Khaak M2s being spawned in the interim.
Cheers,
Scoob.
Edit: F.Y.I. it appears that the plugin thinks that there are a negative number of ships running. My most recent log message says:
"Kha'ak Destroyer killed by player removing 5 from threat level, new threat level 5 current running ships are -2636" (..10:56)
My prior entry read:
"Kha'ak Destroyer killed by player removing 5 from threat level, new threat level 10 current running ships are -2635" (..10:53)
and before that:
"Kha'ak Destroyer killed by player removing 9 from threat level, new threat level 6 current running ships are -2634" (..10:52)
I've put the time in there too so you can see how close these events are & that the threat level went from 6 to 10 in a minute. Hope this helps.

A) You attacked ships in Pirate Territory, and they don't like you.Exoleet wrote:I've been finding it a bit odd that pirates send 3-4 marauders to kill me when I attack freighters in pirate territory.
B) You may have attacked a stealth pirate transport

I'm stumped
[ external image ]
# of Khaak M1 or 2 ships in my universe 0
# of Xenon M1 or 2 ships 2
I think that was a long enough test from new game
could it be XTM causing this as my reselts are belwildering?

I have just started getting the Khaak spam as well, but it is like a switch was thrown for somewhere. I haven't added anything that I know of that would add threats to my universe. I haven't started any XTM main plot yet and still only at Mauroni with X3 plot.
I barely heard a peep from my SEWN sats as I worked up through Vindicator and Warlord. I earned my RRF drive at Warlord and then I didn't hear anything for what seemed like ages. As soon as I turned Crusader (it seems) that the spam started and the SEWN is now going off every few minutes.
Specs:
764-11-05 Threat LVL 0 RRF earned
764-11-07 12:34 Threat LVL -2 Fleets -161
764-11-07 13:17 Threat LVL 6 Fleets -161
Is there any way that RRF is overcompensating as X3/GOD raises the threats as my rank rises?
Also, should I be able to get the master status report in the BBS every time I dock or is it run as a random BBS mission?

The status report is coded not to show that often but often enough so you won't get it always.
edit: if you want to increase that message just change the prio from 33 in the quest.jtp.lv.stats to 2000 and you'll get it a tad more often
RRF will compensate for the 5 race's losing fleets if they go really low but there is no code i remember writing to do this for xenon or khaak in the same way.
Do me a favour as you seen to know scripting basics.
open plugin.lv.jtp.populate and under each line of code where it creates a ship just under it add a write to logbook "ship created by pop script" or something along those lines to see if it spams your logbook.
eg
if you also do this with the jtp.inv.xml & jtp.invx.xml scripts this should find it if it deff is RRF
The problem must lie in one of those 3 scripts but as you can see from my last post a can't bloody re-create it
