The last job I had they claimed to have a development plan but 5 years after announcing features that were supposed to be in the 3.0 version of their product, are now supposed to be in the 5.0 version of their product.

I was just jabbing below the belt, I know you guys are working. Thanks for spending time in here CBJ, it does definitely helps to know you guys are around.

What? You want them to take the EA-way? The EA-way is the path to the Dark Side. You do NOT want them to take the EA-way. I'd pay for the normal FULL game but NOT buy a bare-bones game with 10 different DLCs that each add things that should be in the game at release. Even if they AREN'T plot or gameplay-critical.

KioHunt3r has the right idea: if you really want to know the approximate release date range, go work for Egosoft. Then it's up to you whether or not you tell us here.*

*but if you tell us here then you are at risk of being sued by Deepsilver and fired by Egosoft. In other words, if you do find out you should probably keep it to yourself

But its totally impossible to see X Rebirth before some month, i know some people still hope but they have planed a marketing campaign who have not yet start, and this kind of thing start way before the release, from our side it look like Egosoft/Deep Silver don't do any marketing, but i fact its cause we wait since long time and the game have a big delay, basically without delay the was will be already release, but with this huge one, we can only wait, and i can understand that they prefer to wait the begin of the campaign for release some info, keep the best for the good moment, but its not a reason for make community wait without any new, they can make some efforts and give us 2 screenshots perk month, not a wonderful screenshots who show things that they must keep for release/marketing campaign, but something new, even the first April joke screenshots without the fake interface can be nice...
They are not responsible for the delay but it become really boring for the community...

think of it this way, we haven't seen a trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness yet but it is going to be release in may. Secrecy can build anticipation. Still, I would rather prefer seeing the dev's progress as being the method of creating anticipation.

Me to, I think there scared that someone might steal ideas. But there is no one out there developing this kind of game. Well besides star citizen, but from what i've seen it probably wont out do x rebirth.

Hope the release date wont be like that of Duke Nukem 4ever. After <way too long>, they released "some game" not "the game" just because they had to give something to the public.

I just visit this one and the weekly screenshots (or whatever) thread.
I don't really know why.

I mean look at this whole discussion, how it circles around (you can notice cycles of post styles and reactions - I am part of this too, sure) and how the end result is NULL.

It's kind of pathetic, ain't it?

Or maybe it's that they have a plan for how they're going to market the game, and don't want anticipation peaking (and then dropping) before the game is released?
