I liked all X games because of it unique economy... And not just blowing staff up and watching pretty lights and stations :) Some of us here want Think/Trade/Build and not just fight. Until Trade/Economy is fixed there is no point starting it again. That's my opinion anyway

Edit: Still im somewhat happy whit progress they are making and I hope some of things will be addressed in next patch.
It's not world hunger because we can't feed poor,it's because there will never be enough to feed the rich .....

omfg you haven't played since 1.3. plz get your head out of the cookie jar and play. its 2.2 man, the game has changed so much its actually enjoyable.

my biggest problem with the game is the whole fleet management and once they fix that we should be good to go.

my minor problem with the game is that iv Sean everything is had to offer 2 early and they need to add alot more cap ships and ton more weapons, or give the ability to moders to be able to design our own ships and weapon systems like last x game.

also i hope in the next decade or so. as we move 2 a software world, that the government puts a law in effect that protects consumers against software with major bugs.

Well, maybe it is too much to ask but I say be patient. I think it is going to be a great game and I don't think the wait is going to be as long as people think (although there is still plenty of work to do)
Forgive me if I don't share your optimism. Thus far what was presented in the 30 months before launch wasn't looking good and what has been presented in the the 8 months after launch didn't improve much either.

Hey

I disagree those who say this game is much enjoyable. IMO it's not. Maybe one or two parts of this game, but not from the whole aspect.

I've recently restarted the plot with 2.2 64bit beta, and in the last weak I posted 3 different save-file full of bugs. Also I got crashes, and 2-3 times sound just muted and had to restart game to resolve this. This sound problem never happened to me before. OK, maybe this is all about the new 64bit beta version, but COME OOOON! It's 2014, programmers should be better than this.

So please! Don't say this game is enjoyable. I don't use mods, because I'm testing beta so I provide as much bug report I just can.

But this game is still very frustrating and full of annoying bugs, which isn't funny.

I'm shocked that Egosoft did almost nothing in the past 8 month. :( Very shame, very sad. There are bugs which we had at the release. Ridiculous.

I WANT like this game, I HOPED they CAN fix those bugs, but.... erhh... so much disappointment.

I'm so sad.

Well then, perhaps you will never be satisfied? I admit I am mostly having fun with mods installed but I see a great future with modding.

one of the saddest problems this game faces today is the lack of modders, there so few. i would say there is less then 5 major modders currently working on this game.

Maybe because they don't like the game either?
Or maybe they do like the game but don't want to waste time modding it due to the frequent changes and patch compatibility problems?

As for me not being satisfied.
I am very satisfied with the non-action gameplay offered in X3, where I can pilot any non-action transport I want, to conduct any non-action activity I want.
And if I want to have action I'lll buy a M3 or M2.

And yes, modders do indeed improve on the good game that X3 was by stretching the gameplay beyond the limits Egosoft said they could.

Now if I wanted to play a shooter I'll play some more Battlefield.

Maybe most of the fanbase will return once we are offered a way to play Rebirth the way we want to play, not how Bernd likes us to play. But as long as Bernd doesn't realize that we love to play the "boring" gameplay things will not improve.

Now some things to consider for your future endeavors:
- The customer is king.
- The customer is always right.
And for the historical fans, and probably the most important one:
- Give the people what they want.

everything you said is right.

Also this is a German company and Germans believe costumers are always wrong and the manufacturer is always right.

The manufacturer knows whats best for the costumer even tough the costumer might not think its best for it.

- The customer is always right. is only an american thing and that's why american businesses are so much more successful then there German counterparts.

Except that "customer is king" is the German alternative, "der Kunde ist König". And a french and english pair of hoteliers are known for coining the phrase around 1908.

And I don't know if a 19th century cliche for waiting staff is even really understood by a modern user in its original context.

But I only took the time to google it.

This is OT, but I find it fascinating how original meanings are lost and a sort of de facto meaning rises in it's place. Sometimes the absolute opposite of the original meaning. /OT

In the case of "the customer is always right", I think most of us understand the modern context. There are more than a few surveys that show a large majority of people don't complain when they're dissatisfied, they just never, ever go back. They don't bother complaining but you have lost them as a customer forever.

Succinctly put, give the customer what they want, or risk losing them. In the case of Egosoft, the X series has always been rather niche, and has enjoyed a loyal following as long as they gave those of us who enjoy that niche, what we wanted. They chose to stop providing for that niche, instead opting to go the casual route, and the competition is far more fierce. There are far too many games that offer casual gameplay, and you really have to be something special to stand out. Personally, X has always been a series that I relish for it's complexity and freedom. Without that, I can honestly say there are many, many other lobotomized games I'd rather play than Rebirth.

I am an consumer (so I am right according to the above posts) and I want X Rebirth developped in the direction it is going now. So - Egosoft is working hard to satisfy me and all the others that like X Ribirth.

There have been made good improvements, and I think Egosoft is steering in the right direction.

I absolutely, positively and defenitely do NOT want an(other) X3 clone. Those that want to play that kind of game already have X3 and all the mods, so no need to repeat that same old grey stuff again.

Yeah, funny thing about surveys is they tend to show what people say, rather than what people actually do. I'm dissatisfied about random bug X that they still haven't fixed, so that means I'm NEVER EVER going to play another Egosoft game? Give me a break. There are shades of gray and levels of dissatisfaction, and people rarely reach the point where they'll completely refuse any future product from a company.

Also, I believe that ANY company would happily ban all their niche customers if it somehow guaranteed an influx of 2x the number of DIFFERENT, mainstream customers. Rebirth was an attempt to do just this; they tried a different game, possibly for a different, more mainstream audience.

So you're happy that that plan failed, and Egosoft should stick to their niche. Well, they can't; there's not enough of us valued niche customers to cover their costs.

Well, there are a total of 77,419 customers and only about 2,151 have played in the last month. And with 77,419 customers, it was enough to cover the cost.

But getting twice the number of customers is only nice, if they actually stay. Which is a hard thing to achieve if you pissed them off from the start with a product that barely works, and then needs 7 months to become "playable".
And banning those that come to complain about the product isn't going to help either.

And I am not happy that their plan failed. It's just that we have warned Egosoft about their approach and they ignored us.

All I hope now is that Egosoft does the same Coca Cola did in '85.

Well - it's simply logic.

If you feel that bad about an game that you feel the need to complain on an almost daily base (like some people on Steam forum and on this site), than it must be an torture to play the game. Why would someone in his right mind torture him/her/it self? Unless someone is realy masochistic, it is better to simply stop playing and thus avoid all that bad feelings (and it will also be an great relief to not have to complain any longer).

I like the game myself and, although there is still a lot of work to do, the game feels nice. For me playing the game is certainly no torture, and the upcoming patch (where this tread was about) will improve things further.

So - I don't know when the new patch will be out, but I am certainly looking forward to it.

im 100% sure this tread has nothing to do with me hating the game or not, read the title next time and save yourself some energy. :P :P :P :P

Totally agree man!

I already made that kind of answer in another thread... If you don't like... fon't play and don't spend your time complaining about things you don't like... it's been made by lots of people from the release...

It's a whole new game, it needs to be fixed and improved but it is still a NEW game! if you don't like it... turn around and leave it behind...

There are still enough quite enjoying people to feedback ego about future devs...

still waiting for the patch too! :)
