omfg you haven't played since 1.3. plz get your head out of the cookie jar and play. its 2.2 man, the game has changed so much its actually enjoyable.Nikola515 wrote:I liked all X games because of it unique economy... That's my opinion anyway

Forgive me if I don't share your optimism. Thus far what was presented in the 30 months before launch wasn't looking good and what has been presented in the the 8 months after launch didn't improve much either.BlackRain wrote:Well, maybe it is too much to ask but I say be patient. Well then, perhaps you will never be satisfied? I admit I am mostly having fun with mods installed but I see a great future with modding.Graaf wrote:Forgive me if I don't share your optimism. one of the saddest problems this game faces today is the lack of modders, there so few. i would say there is less then 5 major modders currently working on this game.BlackRain wrote:Well then, perhaps you will never be satisfied? everything you said is right.Graaf wrote:Maybe because they don't like the game either?
Or maybe they do like the game but don't want to waste time modding it due to the frequent changes and patch compatibility problems?
As for me not being satisfied.
I am very satisfied with the non-action gameplay offered in X3, where I can pilot any non-action transport I want, to conduct any non-action activity I want.
And if I want to have action I'lll buy a M3 or M2.
And yes, modders do indeed improve on the good game that X3 was by stretching the gameplay beyond the limits Egosoft said they could.
Now if I wanted to play a shooter I'll play some more Battlefield.
Maybe most of the fanbase will return once we are offered a way to play Rebirth the way we want to play, not how Bernd likes us to play. But as long as Bernd doesn't realize that we love to play the "boring" gameplay things will not improve.
Now some things to consider for your future endeavors:
- The customer is king.
- The customer is always right.
And for the historical fans, and probably the most important one:
- Give the people what they want.

In the case of "the customer is always right", I think most of us understand the modern context. There are more than a few surveys that show a large majority of people don't complain when they're dissatisfied, they just never, ever go back. They don't bother complaining but you have lost them as a customer forever.
Succinctly put, give the customer what they want, or risk losing them. In the case of Egosoft, the X series has always been rather niche, and has enjoyed a loyal following as long as they gave those of us who enjoy that niche, what we wanted. They chose to stop providing for that niche, instead opting to go the casual route, and the competition is far more fierce. There are far too many games that offer casual gameplay, and you really have to be something special to stand out. Personally, X has always been a series that I relish for it's complexity and freedom. Without that, I can honestly say there are many, many other lobotomized games I'd rather play than Rebirth.
Yeah, funny thing about surveys is they tend to show what people say, rather than what people actually do. I'm dissatisfied about random bug X that they still haven't fixed, so that means I'm NEVER EVER going to play another Egosoft game? Give me a break. There are shades of gray and levels of dissatisfaction, and people rarely reach the point where they'll completely refuse any future product from a company.ravage_za wrote:There are more than a few surveys that show a large majority of people don't complain when they're dissatisfied, they just never, ever go back. Well - it's simply logic.mohammadm55 wrote:lol you funny.JClosed wrote:Well - then don't play the game...

im 100% sure this tread has nothing to do with me hating the game or not, read the title next time and save yourself some energy.JClosed wrote:Well - it's simply logic.mohammadm55 wrote:lol you funny.JClosed wrote:Well - then don't play the game...

If you feel that bad about an game that you feel the need to complain on an almost daily base (like some people on Steam forum and on this site), than it must be an torture to play the game. Why would someone in his right mind torture him/her/it self? Unless someone is realy masochistic, it is better to simply stop playing and thus avoid all that bad feelings (and it will also be an great relief to not have to complain any longer).
I like the game myself and, although there is still a lot of work to do, the game feels nice. For me playing the game is certainly no torture, and the upcoming patch (where this tread was about) will improve things further.
So - I don't know when the new patch will be out, but I am certainly looking forward to it.
