well more seriously I don't really care on how it is named... it's just a small anonymous ship... Not a huge nearly unique capital one.
In X:R you're building your empire from scratch, so think of the Skunk like your first car. It's old, it's dented, it's got mysterious stains in the trunk. If you had your big shiny capital ship, you'd be worried about scratching the paint every time you pulled out of dock. In the Skunk you can take a beating, shoot things, have holes blow in you and patched over... and all it does is add more character to the ship.
In a sci-fi like X-universe games, not everything is perfectly clean and tidy like you see in Star Trek, it's lived in, it's worn and used. Look around your house, do you live in a gleaming metropolis? Nope.
Once people play the game and give the skunk a chance, it'll grow on them. They may still want additional ships to choose from in the future and that may even happen. But right now you have a pretty lil thug-tug with a black and white bushy tail.

To me in todays world we just actually sometimes get too much info imho from any games that are in development. It steam pre pre / eary access stuff that fine if you like to be hardcore betatester and pay for it not that they pay you. But for other like me it would just ruin the fun when i finaly get the "finished" product. offcourse i know Egosoft games are allways state of flux that need more glue to the side.
On my part i actually like to make x3ap automated most my empire funtion with Cag/CLS2/ST/UT:s the change to new X sounds on my part just extension to my dream. Offcourse player need someting else to do but watch nice screensaver
Even i think X will be nice one too.For example i do less and less any other than try to build more factory complexes expect occasional really lucrative station build missions or taxi. Expect if i want finaly the Xtreme rank i need to shooty shooty a lot more. Mogul /assasin now.
