It deserves a new topic entry of its own. I’m posting this info on the main forum :) :)

Also note that if you do this on TT or PP start, you can "buy" yourself another Kea or Hyperion/perseus

Since your game is then modified and will lose the plots and missions, then frankly you might as well cheat in whatever you want to play the sandbox game in the way you want.

Still, this is the Tech Sp forum and the aim here as always is to get the X3 game back to a working fully vanilla version. I suggest waiting for the patch if that is also your objective.

The patch is out. I'll be interested to see how things look now for people who have posted in this thread. :)

I can't say anything definite yet, but it seems that AP version 1.1 patch didn't recover all lost performance caused by transport passenger missions.

Are these passenger missions under Mission Director only for player or are there lots of NPC transports around universe conducting these missions as well?

Only the player can be offered or accept missions.

My 21 hour game had degraded to ~20 FPS when I stopped to wait for this patch. I opened the save in Empires Edge to 60 FPS, docked. Undocked and entered sector at 60 FPS.

Jumped to:

Seizewell, 25 FPS. Empty space: 48 FPS
Argon Prime 47 FPS.
Home of Light 46 FPS.
Paranid Prime 50 FPS.
Empires Edge 58 FPS.

What is it about Seizewell? When slowly panning from empty space, and 48 FPS, to sector center, 25 FPS, GPU utilization drops from 40% @ 48 FPS to 20% and 25 FPS.

Q6700@3.3ghz
8GB RAM
EVGA GTX 480.

And a bit of errata. The character animation window does not close when the transaction has completed.

As I've said in several threads already, we're aware of this and are working on a solution. Unfortunately we were not able to reliably reproduce it in time for the 1.1 patch.

Putting empty (0 bytes) 3.01 Generic Missions.pck file into addon/director/ folder seems to give a lot of lost frame rate back. It would be reasonable to assume that whatever problem there still exists in version 1.1 has something to do with generic missions.

#1 : I fully realize this thread is years old.

#2: I post here because this issue still exists.

I am running the latest version of the game obtained via Steam. I started X3:T3 in December 2013. I did not have this issue in X3:T3 with my 45 day game (as reported by Player Status).

In X3:AP, my game had become unplayable in any real-time sense of the word. Merely moving the mouse was laggy, much less attempting combat of any kind.

After research, I created a Director folder in x3 terran conflict/addon, and placed this file in it: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2735 ... .xml.fixer

Upon reloading the save game the difference was immediately apparent, the game is back to smooth as glass. I saved, exited, removed the file, and reloaded, and still smooth as glass. So something in the Mission Director is still broken over time.

My system: i7-3770 @ 3.4Ghz, 16GB ram, Win7 64 bit, Nvidia GTX 770.

This is my finding also. Over the years I've never been able to play TC or AP ongoing without removing the convoy generic missions (escort convey, destroy convoy). It happens to us because we on average, change sectors more than others and/or are more sensitive to decreased framerates. In any case if you don't play the convoy generic missions why put up with the slower framerates.

Yes, it is "years old". If you have a similar problem, then you should start a new thread giving the info requested in the sticky at the top of the forum. Resurrecting old threads with problems that predate the latest patches isn't generally a good idea and is why we tend to lock them, as I'm doing here.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

X4 is a journey, not a destination. Have fun on your travels.
