WRT re-using my work, there is already a general permissions statement (which I posted somewhere.. can't remember where at the moment) which states that other moders are welcome to re-use my work BUT the modder must give due credit to the work of mine they have incorporated and also state the version of the mod they took the data from.

If you are changing something, then please give clear indications to what you changed. I would also request for clarities sake that you do not use my mod's title in the title of your derived works.

To not put to fine a point on it (as I have already stated numerous times already) ... NO!!... I simply do not have to time nor inclination to maintain a CMOD balanced version alongside my vanilla balanced variant. You can ask a zillion times but my personal time situation does not change.

The existing CMOD and MARS patch for v0.9 was created by another person and is only posted alongside mine for expedience. If anyone wishes to update it and send me the update I will happily host it alongside my mod but until then there will be no change.

WRT a MARS file for Vanilla, I will consider looking into it later but at this time I have other things on my plate.

Sorry if this is a newb question.

First of all, I wanted to say a big ol thank you for your efforts in adding to the lacking (imo) selection of terran weapons.

My question is very simple, I think I just didnt grasp it well in the description,

where exactly do we go to buy these new items?

My TXU blog and wiki should contain this information (though I still need to update the Wiki entry).

The new weapons are only available from one of two locations (depending on weapon race).

The new Terran weapons are available from Spirit Industries HQ located in the sector

I am using version 0.11 of your script. I just bought a Springblossom at Aldrin and noticed I could no longer fit the Aldrin weapons in the turrets. Was this intentional on your part? Other than this, I am liking this mod.

I know with 99.999999999999999% certainty that this is not a side effect of my mod, I do not touch any of the files relating to weapon type capability.

What other mods are you using? It is more likely to be a problem with a modification to the TCockpits nor TShips files (neither of which I touch).

Thank you for answering my question, I really like your mod, I think it adds some vareity while keeping it balanced.

My personal favorite is the enhanced M/A-M launcher for my newly bought firgate :) man I love frigates....

anyway, my only issue is that even though this awsum weapon has a range of 5.something kms, I only get the aiming reticule, (the lead indicator tells you where to shoot) when I get within the 3.3 something kms range, as if I still had the normal version of the weapon. I tested to make sure, and the damage and everything works right, just this one issue.

Any possible fixes that you might suggest? I love this mod thats why I ask, not trying to criticize your hard work.

FYI

did you know that the escort mission for the Argon start docks at Spirit Industries HQ?

And the Bluebook icon has appear there.

There is also a Terran Defense station IS.

But the scabbard docked at Spirit Industries HQ..

Was this on purpose or just an effect that happened?

I knew about the Terran ODS. The scabbard docking at the HQ and Vanilla blue book missions appearing at the HQ are not intentional features of the mod. Providing it has not broken the missions I am not concerned.

It is not a problem that has been reported before nor I have come across personally. I must admit that to date I have only used the Adv/Enh MAMLs in turrets, where they seem to operate without a problem. I have however used the Adv/Enh EMPC in main guns and as I recall the aiming worked fine for them.

I have a couple of questions though...
  • Q1) Do you just have Adv/Enh MAML fitted in the cockpit you are using? - even if other weapons are disabled the Vanilla aiming code still takes them into account
    Q2) If not, do you have any other mods installed?

Well, to answer your first question I need to answer your second.

I am using a few other mods, mainly yours, the extra ships pack by cadius, (how I cam across your nice mod) and most of the "terran revitalization" mods that are suggested by the extra ships pack. Like NPCs using the new ships, stronger nps patrols, terran sector with trading that doesn't fail etc.

The only other mods that Im using that arent related this general extra ships "pack" is one that changes the backgrounds making everything look more epic and "space" like...lol and a lighter version of Mars that just gives one or two more options for the turrets like "attack small ships" and "attack big ships"

Ok, as for the first question, I just bought the Hiroshima, the new terran M7 in the cadius Xtra pack, and equipped "enhanced MAML in the right left front turrets

And to answer your question, yes, as well as in the 8 main guns manually controlled by the player.

While the turrets shoot as soon as im in range ( as the ai takes care of it I suppose) when I aim with my main guns, the aiming reticule only shows up at 4.3 or 4.4 kms distance, (tested it this time) even though the weapon description says 5.3 or something.

Its not a huge problem, as it still has more range than the basic version, but I was just wondering if theres a possible quick fix or maybe something Im doing wrong.

This sounds like a pretty well known bug/feature of the "Vanilla" range calculation used for the aiming reticle.

If I am not mistaken, the range calculation is done from the centre of the firing ship to the centre of the target, so for some bigger targets (and some bigger Player ships) you can hit them sooner than the reticle actually indicates. You will probably notice a similar discrepency with Vanilla weapons on various other ships (especially the capital ships).

Status Update
Information on pending v0.14 release!

Changes include:-
  • 1. Changed SPARE_LASER_1 and SPARE_LASER_2 weapon cargo class to match CMOD and hide these unused weapons from users of Cadius' Xtra Ship/Station Pack
    2. Added "Vanguard Mercury" Terran light missile (rapid fire anti-missile/drone missile for Terran ships with S size cargo or bigger)
    3. Added "Vanguard Mars" Terran light missile (rapid fire anti-fighter missile for Terran ships with M size cargo or bigger)
    4. Added "Vanguard Jupiter" Terran light missile (rapid fire anti-capital missile for Terran ships with L size cargo or bigger)
    5. Added "Vanguard Pluto" Terran light missile (quick fire anti-capital missile for Terran ships with XL size cargo or bigger)
New terran missiles should appear in Spirit Industries HQ at time of next restock from stores (5 minutes or less).
