Activating the LAA flag can create big problems for some users and as such it has been disabled in patch 2.5. I think that there's no option to activate the LAA flag because most users would not know what to do with it and someone may activate it and then experience problems. Also there is no way to dynamically activate the LAA flag with an option, the flag must be activated in the executable itself which means that Egosoft would have to ship two executables and then the user would have to start the correct one.

Yup seems to have worked greatBlackRazor wrote:That's exactly the way to apply the LAA flag on the Steam versionShadow_Wolf33 wrote:I tried using NTCore on the Steam version of X3:TC and when I tried to launch it, Steam threw and error and refused to run the executable. There might be some inherent executable tampering prevention in Steam. Might have to extract the 2.6 patch, get the executable out of there, try using NTCore on that and then see if that will run.

well this practically solved most of my FPS drop problems a lot of the stuttering. The NTcore patch of course, of course I still notice a huge drop in Terran space because of the largeness of their stations but otherwise in other sectors like Legends Home and Cloudbase Southeast I no longer lag/drop in FPS much and stutter as much as I used to.

Exactly. We already have a startup launcher, just need a checkbox in the options "Enable >2gb awareness (EXPERIMENTAL). Depending on if that is checked, it will launch the appropriate executable.BlackRazor wrote:Activating the LAA flag can create big problems for some users and as such it has been disabled in patch 2.5.
